Text About it 50808 is a first of its kind for Ireland: a free 24/7 text service, providing everything from a calming chat to immediate support for people going through a mental health or emotional crisis - big or small.

From breakups or bullying, to anxiety, depression and suicidal feelings, Crisis Volunteers are available 24/7 for anonymous text conversations. The aim is to provide immediate support in the short term and connect people to resources that will help them in the future.

The service is funded by the Health Service Executive (HSE).

Excellent initiative . How could one get involved to support or volunteer for this? I’m guessing you’d have to be qualified

There is a link on the website to volunteer.

Applicants have to undergo training and commit to volunteering for 4 hours per week.

I mean this with absolute kindness, but based on your other thread, I'd suggest you work on your own issues first rather than try to help others with theirs. It's too easy to try to be a wounded helper and ignore your own stuff.
