    There has been a legal dispute over all those old cartoons for years now about who owns the rights, Laurel and Hardy too. That's why they don't get shown on the telly anymore.

    No there's not, in fact some of the earlier ones are now public domain. It's just people don't want to watch ancient shows anymore, not to mind the stuff that won't wash with today's pc crowd.
