    Absolute scumbag.

Its on the Galway Garda speed camera page

    Edit:This should work

You sure it’s Galway? The accents sound like it’s in Dublin.

Any link, even a Facebook link would do. Tried a quick search but don't see anything relevant

That’s what I was wondering too. He just stood there gormlessly when he was after the driver and then barely tried to move when it was clear he was next.

If he is apprehended the second attack will go very badly for him.

Completely pre-meditated going back to the vehicle to get a weapon and assaulting a bystander.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,513 ✭✭✭BrianD3

Looks like the bin truck driver was well able for him - in general, bin men would be fairly tough f*ckers and it woudn't be advisable to mess with a crew of them (or to park a car in front of a truck that might "accidentally" move forward when you try to attack the driver)

What did he strike the second guy with?
Very hard luck for the perp that there was a nosey woman filming it!

Very surprised that truck driver didn't beat sh%t out of him as most hgv drivers (me included) are mad men long hours for just ok pay .wouldn't be found wanting if had to deal with nutter of car driver. (Maybe bin men have easier job

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 26,213 ✭✭✭✭Strumms

Hopefully the reg of the car is somewhat visible and the cretin can be traced.

I doubt any judge would let any violent fûckwit off with a suspended sentence for that, that would surly be jail time...regardless of previous, a dying granny etc...let’s look at what happened...

    1) carrying a weapon in their car.

    2) attacking the driver of a multi ton industrial vehicle as it is being operated in a public residential area.

    3) attacking the colleague who also was innocent of anything , just standing, working, observing.

Imagine after attacking the driver of the truck, he accidentally released the handbrake, he’s going unconscious / dazed, truck rolls back... could hit a pedestrian, kids out playing on bikes, somebody crossing the road... mad.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,394 ✭✭✭SCOOP 64

The bin man driver should have rammed him after seeing assault on his colleague.

And be culpable for damage to a €100k+ vehicle? Won't happen

    That's mad.

What's also mad is before it even started, some weirdo just happened to be at a window, recording the bin men on her camera phone

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 12,060 ✭✭✭✭anewme

I'd say that's the local ganglander.

Scumbag. I really wish we could get tough on crime. Strip all the nice stuff out of prisons and build some more of them. Keep them full.

  • Banned (with Prison Access) Posts: 1,714 ✭✭✭ThewhiteJesus

Clearly the bin men were scared that’s what surprises me, they should have taught him a lesson

Think about it, if the dirt bag was so upset at being held up he was probably laying on the horn before the video started. Hardly a weirdo.

Have a feeling there might have been a bit of shouting from car driver before this, may be that's when the filming started.

    The bin man behaved impeccably.

There will be no defence whatsoever for the culprit if (when) this goes to court.

He deserves a good spell in prison.

    Good points.

Though it does seem to be a feature of modern life that there always seems to be someone recording **** on their phones any time anything kicks off.

Yeh bystanders would be more likely to pull out a phone before helping someone in these situations. Not a nice trait that seems to be in more and more people.

It sounded like a womans voice recording.

If a rather large bloke could not fight back, she'd probably have not done well.

    She got the evidence though.

I meant in general, the other poster said it's increasingly common for people to whip out a phone and record. Didn't mean she should have gone outside.

As much as id liked to have seen the cnut ran over and thrown into the back of the truck it will stand to the bin men that they never retaliated, any judge that doesn't give the dirty scum bag 5 years should be fired

The second bin man was using his phone to record/picture the incident presunably for evidence. The scumbag assaulted him because of that. You can hear him saying it.

In this case (and many other cases), it's likely the difference between some lout getting caught or not. If anything the person recording should have used much higher quality video and increased zoom.

Even with somewhat grainy images, there's plenty to work with:
