Dealz have them all the time, I picked up a few recently and they seem to hold charge quite well

Got a couple of Kodak AA rechargeable in Deals, not worth a curse.

Aldi do the Tronic rechargeable from time to time, really good batteries.

Buy Duracell or Eveready batteries. They are dearer, but the last much longer.Kodak and all other cheap brands in Deals,Tesco etc are rubbish and a waste of money

Shipping fine for me. Have one 6 years! Still seems to hold a decent charge.

I use rechargeables for nearly everything but for a smoke detector I would I'd been inclined to just use alkalines.

I use 9v lithium batteries in my smoke alarms. They're relatively pricey and hard to get but they save a lot of hassle considering they last for years.

Lots of batteries on clearance in Tesco stores at the moment, as mentioned on the Tesco bargains thread.

Picked up a few 32-packs of Tesco Alkaline AAs for €3, a few 4-packs of Duracell 9Vs for €4 and 4-packs of Energiser rechargable AAs for €2.50.

a mate of mine is big into dabbling in electronics, a few years back, he done a survey for an UK magazine he used to write a column for a couple of times a year.

at the time Tesco own brand batteries performed best under testing.
