Postal VAT and Custom Charges from outside EU

15-07-2020 03:25PM#1This comes up every now and then. I have previously paid charges for US online shopping but here are some offical insights.
Customs Docket
My VAT charge was €6.85, the An Post handling fee was €10.00.
The fee is calculated at 1% of value or minimum €10.00 for processing customs charges.
