Servicing a Yanmar engine

    Hi all,
    Wondering if anyone has recommendations for anyone who services or does work on Yanmar inboard engines around Dublin?

    It's not difficult at all to service these of its just a service you need.

    Well, it’s hard to know until the engine is looked at, to be honest. I took the boat out two weekends ago and I ran the engine up to 3000prm for a couple of minutes. Then the red temperature light came on and the engine cut out. I gave it a couple of minutes, re-started and the same thing happened. Managed to get a tow back onto the marina, left it 30mins and restarted. Seemed to work ok - I got back to my berth under very low revs. Need to find out if the thermostat is stuck or if there is a problem with overheating. And if the engine suffered any damage from possible overheating (hopefully not because it was such a short period). Would prefer to have someone professional to look at it. Cheers.
