I was messing with my notification settings the other day, now I have something unwanted on screen, little silhouette of man with a plus symbol whenever I get a new email.

I don't get the normal bar notification now because of this.

Does anyone know how to remove it?

    Galaxy 10.

    Thanks.

Without seeing it it sounds it could be like the icon that Twitter uses to see what contacts you already have to follow them ? Have you recently installed Twitter or signed up /into the app? I know it's not email but the description of the icon sounds familiar.

    Hopefully this has worked :/

That looks like a shortcut to directly jump to emailing a certain contact. If you long press on it do you get the option to remove it?

Also, as an aside, uninstall AVG. It’s only a placebo and your phone will run much better without it.

You enabled smart pop up view for the email app. Go to settings - advanced features - smart pop-up view and then toggle off email

Throwing away money! Antivirus is snake oil on Android. Just stick to the legit markets, Google play store, Amazon etc and you'll be fine
