    Hi all,
We're thinking of having a room-heating stove installed in the living room. It'd be a non-boiler insert stove which we'd like inserted into the current fireplace.

Local stove place and supply and fit a Henley Apollo, and fit it so that looks like it's part of the fireplace, for about €1000.

Does that sound reasonable or should we be shopping around a bit more?

Hi - just wondering how you got on? Did you go ahead?

    Thanks

Cost about a grand, maybe a bit more, all in.

They did a lovely job though! This includes the stove, the labour, cutting any pieces to make it fit etc.

Not sure how much the stove alone cost but that sounds like a real bargain to me. Did they fit a new chimney flue ?

Oh wait, hang on, I've gotten this wrong.

It was around €1600/1700 - stove was €1100 (but it's a good one), labour covers the rest (and it was a full days work, and he managed to make it compatible with the existing fire surround by installing a plate, and a granite section on the floor in front too.

Can you pm me the website?

Hi, could you share the details of the company that did the work please? I have got a quote of 2500 euros for supply and installation of henley apollo 5kW insert stove into an existing fireplace, and chimney flue liner (2 storeys long) , that's about it! I live in Cork. I am guessing this quote is too high?

    Hi,

I’d appreciate the company’s details too, looking to get an insert stove fitted ourselves, and that’s a very decent price

Got something similar done recently , but i needed / wanted a full new fire place to go with it , Hearth , Surround , Mantlepiece and non boiler insert stove came to 3K including lining chimney and a H cowl for the chimney as my location is exposed to coastal type winds off the harbour.

We recently got a nice modern type insert stove fitted on an internal wall where there were double doors so literally nothing to start off with.
    4k in total.
    Breakdown along the lines of:
    stove: 1200
ss flue 1100 (2 storey house so quite a bit needed)
False chimney, blockwork base, surround in fireboard, skim, new skirting boards etc: 700
    Installation: 1000 ( 4 days, 2 lads)

Just had a Henley Apollo 5Kw insert stove installed.

€2300 all in - stove, flue, cowl, 2 x Carbon monoxide alarms, vent etc etc - small hearth, stone surround and heat resistant beam.

Hard to get a good fitter in less than 5 weeks. Just starting to light it now - with a couple of small fires to start, as per fitter's instructions.

Looking forward to getting a nice fire going at the weekend.

Got a very good price on the stove, so pleased with the price overall - but it all adds up!

Rathcormac Stoves did the work here. Might be renamed as O'Neills Stoves now. Decent to deal with but have heard they've been incredibly busy over the last while.
