    Hi,

We have been looking into a 23sq m area of composite deck with railing.

Quoted close to 10 grand for supply & fit...

    Is this price expected?

    Thanks

Would need more info. Is site level. Access good. Digging out required. Quality of material being used. Existing manholes.lights being fitted.
    It seems high.

   .
Considering a sq m of composite excluding fitting is around €50-€55 and
another €100 for a railing and sub frame so that's around €8,000 for fitting  unless there's
    something else needed?

Is this the way prices will go for the foreseeable future when we are all back in action?

I'm actually putting in my own composite deck at the moment. It's 38sqm.
Materials are coming in at €3200 but we have no handrail. Doing all the labour myself.

For a deck of your size i would have said maybe a little over 2k for materials and the about the same again for labour for a good job.

No lights being fitted, site is level and no digging is needed. Access is straight forward. Price was for deck boards, hand rail, 2 steps. There is a 1.5m x 1.5m timber deck there that is also to be disposed of.

Are you sure about composite? I have heard it scratches and marks very easily? Although granted much less maintenance!

Hi, it would be our preference due to reduced maintenance. We’re in a very windy exposed site in the winter so things tend to take a battering & would prefer something less slippery in the winter. Granted, price may be the issue now!

I've seen it used very effectively (and attractively) in public-accessible commercial locations like marinas.

I presume it varies in quality, like anything.

    This would be about right

    FFS is it gold plated?

composite is around €60 per sq metre so thats about €1400. Allowing for joists, clips, etc etc it should cost circa €2000 for materials. nice profit there

    2. Would should I pay for 16m2

    3. Also if any would could recommend any installers,

Seems a bit odd asking about installation prices in a DIY forum.

It's decking, not a Space X launch pad. :pac:

I used Brite Decking for my deck project. They have affordable decks to premium boards plus up to 30-years warranty. I find their products easy to install as a DIY-er. This saved me a lot of money!

You might want to consider checking them out www.britedecking.com.au
