    Allowed yet?

And garages? Are they open outside emergencies?

How far would one be allowed to drive to a dog groomer?

    And what about garages?

Are there any you can take your car to if there's a problem (I am getting the engine malfunction message and my garage has given me a run around replacement for the duration)

It would help if you told us what town you're in.
We can then find places open in your area for you.

So far you're not allowed unnecessary journeys.
So shopping for food is ok but not getting your hair cut.
In June the distance limit you can go will be extended, but still you shouldn't make unnecessary journeys.

I prefer not to say what my town is but ,from what you say it seems like it is just a question of finding a garage willing to do the job.

With my runaround replacement that my garage has loaned me ,I imagine getting the other one fixed now would fall under unnecessary journeys unless ,perhaps the garage was very close by.

Dog grooming is an animal welfare issue if not done properly. They should be seen as essential

So why is it not compulsory.? "Your honour this ,ahem gentleman never once took his companion to be groomed"

What about the lamb and beef we eat?Was it properly groomed before it went to the abattoir?

Seems to me "animal welfare" may be being used as a specious argument.

You obviously have to take care if you clip your dog's nails so as not to cut them to short ,but is that rocket science?

Sure it is "essential " that jobs are not lost but some will be inevitably

A matted coat causes distress to a dog. Also with the nice weather we’ve been having they get too hot

Well ,why can't the owner cut it?

Or manage it so it doesn't get too badly matted.

(I can see with blind dogs ,it is not so simple)

I hope they can soon. My Pomeranian desperately needs a cut.
