My Gmail inbox label schrol button is locked

It seems to be taken over by Hangouts and only shows about 3 labels at a time when schrolled. How do I unlock it or get rid of it please. oap here sos:D

You can disable Hangouts in the sidebar by clicking the gear icon (top right of Gmail) > Settings > Chat > Chat off.
