I chipped the positive battery node on my 663 tractor battery. It now corrodes with green oxide.

    Is there any fix?

    Thanks

    Vaseline over it might help

It's actually the positive discharge from the battery I am concerned about. Is it dangerous!?

May be stick up a pic.

Is it just the metal terminal with some damage?
Or have you damaged the plastic case of the battery?

Yes, clean as much as possible, with small fine wire brush and coat with Vaseline or other petroleum jelly. Corrosion like that normally occurs from under charging possibly because of the poor connection between battery lead and the terminal, possibly because of the damage but I suspect your terminal clamp on the lead is not in great condition either so maybe replace it as they are cheap.

Edit: if that's the positive lead it could actually be over charging. How did you damage the terminal? Was it removing the clamp due to being almost welded to battery with corrosion like that?

I think i damaged it while removing the clamp. I had a problem with the wiring on the clamp. Thanks.
