    I'll let the office know.

Bear in mind that like pretty much every other company at the moment, boards is also working with a reduced presence of office staff and developers. Be patient while they get it sorted.

Thanks all, it's a known issue but should be rectified by refreshing the page a couple of times. It's on the list of things to be looked at but I can't say when that will be.

Yeah and the app doesnt work anymore.

The app is no longer supported, we recommend using http://touch.boards.ie for mobile browsing.

Not really sure how to explain this but I'll try.

This has been happening for a while.

Whenever I try to click in to a forum from a thread, it always loads up the thread from x years ago,

    I.e
    On the my threads page.

    CORONAVIRUS IN WATERFORD.
    Posted in : waterford city

If I press on 'waterford city' here, it shows posts from 17 years ago.

To actually access the most recent in that forum, I'd have to open the CORONAVIRUS thread and then press on the subheading 'waterford city.'

Other than that I'd have to search in the search bar for Waterford city.

    So no shortcut to forums.

Using the mobile site on android.

    Probably not a huge issue.

    Thanks.

I do follow many other threads/forums , I'm not obsessed with all things Waterford, that was just the easiest example to give.

    Similar here.
Forums showing old old.posts, takes 4 or 5 refreshes to fix and happening constantly today

    Clear your cache

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,420 ✭✭✭splinter65

This is happening to me. Is it some kind of glitch?
What does “clear your cache” mean?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,040 ✭✭✭rapul

In settings where you can clear cookies and search history and all, but just do cache

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 17,914 ✭✭✭✭Eeden

Unusable on phone now because of this

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,851 ✭✭✭massy086

I have cleared cache but it doesn't solve the problem

    Hi folks,

We are aware of this issue and looking into the cause. Typically, refreshing the page rectifies it and displays threads in the correct order. Sorry for the disruption and inconvenience.

Hi it's taking about 5 x refreshing the page to show the current page

Having similar issues, also cleared cache and different browser etc. When I open a thread on mobile it gives me a 404 error.

When I look at the URL the link pointed me to it is something like https://touch.boards.ie/thread//post with no thread or post no details in it. Working again now so can't get the URL exactly but something like that. Being doing this for a few days for me.

Not sure if that's any help but thought I'd share with mods.

    Thanks

The app is no longer supported, we recommend using []touch.boards[rl] for mobile browsing.

Niamh the touch site is unusable for the last week.
What are we paying boards for with a service like this?... O wait, it's free :D:D

    Thanks!

Came to report the same, it was working OK when I refreshed, not anymore, have to switch to full site and then back again

Using touch site always, but real problems for a long long time, well before covid

Seema to be getting worse and worse. It was happening on the odd occasion, once a day or so. Now it's almost every forum I go to. Refreshing 3-4 times isn't even working now, sometimes I'm actually getting even older posts. The touch site is almost unusable at this stage

  • Registered Users, Subscribers, Registered Users 2 Posts: 13,631 ✭✭✭✭antodeco

Same as me. Regardless of what I do it's randomly happening. I'm using Chrome on Android, touch site.

Having the same problem too. Cache clear does nothing. Making the site unusable at present.

This is a big issue. Can't constantly be pressing refresh.

    Morning all,

I've merged two threads relating to this ongoing issue. We understand that it's frustrating and apologise for the disruption. It seems to be getting worse in recent days (previously a refresh - or two - would rectify it), as I'm seeing reports that it's taking multiple refreshes on most visits to a forum page.

The devs are aware of this issue and working to get to the bottom of it, but I'm afraid I don't have a timescale as to when a fix will be rolled out. Sorry about that.

Its not the first time this issue has occurred Mark. Been a while but can't remember when. The site is getting unusable at this stage. Refreshing half a dozen times for every page isn't working.

I regularly use the watch and motoring forums and lately when I click into a topic I see posts from 10 years ago while the latest posts are not shown.
Any idea what could be wrong?
    Many thanks

    I have the same issue

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 29,088 ✭✭✭✭_Kaiser_

I thought it was just me :)

Still happening though on the touch site (chrome 81.0.4044.111 Android 10) and agree with the above that it makes things practically unusable with every forum requiring at least 2 page refreshes to sort out the order.

Any updates from the office? This should be right up the priority list as it's effectively breaking the site.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,501 ✭✭✭BrokenArrows

    Same here.

Below is a screenshot. Refreshes or navigating to page 2 and back to page 1 resolves the issue.

This is page 1 of the forum. You can see the page in the screenshot but the threads are 14 years old.

I've just merged some posts from a new thread into this one.

Apologies guys, as Mark said previously this is a known issue which the devs are looking into but we can't say when it will be fixed just yet.

Same here, many refreshes needed to show stuff properly - only effects touch site.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,982 ✭✭✭MeMen2_MoRi_

Another bug around this now, even when recent threads come up, clicking into last post it "kicks" you back to the main page with the old threads showing..

Example, soccer forum>last post United thread>soccer forum.

Using the touch site, Firefox, Android.

Happening multiple times a day now. If it's not that, it's the 404s that are prevalent on the touch UI too.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,058 ✭✭✭Unearthly

Seems to be fixed for now

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14,866 ✭✭✭✭Goldengirl

Trying to access pages last night and today and when searching or scrolling subsequent pages only posts from years ago coming up .
Is this a general problem or is it me?
I have no technical problems otherwise with this device.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 22,656 ✭✭✭✭Tokyo

    Threads merged.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,874 ✭✭✭This is it

Seems to be happening less now?
