    Hello,

I hope you are keeping well and staying safe at this difficult time.

Mir's reign of terror is over and Ryan Tubridy has defeated the virus, claimed immunity and will be reinstated on the throne as King of Friday Nights.
Yes, Tubs is back and he will be better than ever. Hopefully

    giphy.gif

There will undoubtedly be a ceremony to mark this momentous occasion and probably a blessing for the night that's in it

As if that wasn't enough, RTE presents (mostly on Skype or Zoom or Bebo)

Dermot O’Leary, the presenter who will mention that his people are from Wexford. He wants to present the Rose Of Tralee, genuinely.

Glamour Magazine’s Editor-in-chief Samantha Barry. Who is from Cork but lives in New York now. Why would you do that Samantha? #NotQuark

Amy Huberman, Actress and frequenter of the RTE Canteen. Married to a former Rugby Player who was on this a few weeks ago.

World Champion Boxer Kellie Harrington. She would probably have been heading to the Olympics this year but something came up

Actor Brendan Gleeson from Mr Mercedes and lots of things. He will "give a rare musical performance with his son Fergus Gleeson and also discuss turning 65, his latest roles and what St Francis Hospice means to him." Brendan Gleeson is possibly the only actor to portray Michael Collins, Winston Churchill and Donald Trump on screen, although never at the same time

Glen Hansard from stuff is on to promote RTE's #shineyourlight campaign where we are meant to light a candle on Saturday at 9pm for solidarity with each other. Which is nice but FFS blow out your candles afterwards as we have enough problems without an outbreak of housefires

Jessica Bowes "will be joined by a representative from Women’s Aid to discuss the increased threat of domestic violence during a time where we have to restrict our movements"

Well sure that's about it. Look, I see no mention of the Carters.
It could be worse. As Edgar says in King Lear "The worst is not So long as we can say “This is the worst." "

Altough at least King Lear got to wander around on the heath with no-one to bother him. Jammy Basterd.

Here is a Postal Quiz from 1990.

Tubridy manically talking trying to tell kids the Easter Bunny will bring them Easter Eggs here.

Is the Easter Bunny bringing eggs a recent thing in Ireland? When we were kids we knew exactly who had delivered which eggs. And who had not.

Perhaps tonight they will have a segment on how to make a home ventilator out of parts from a microwave oven and a foot spa.

The Easter bunny is all new crap for dumbing down the population...

I will be avoiding again tonight, its Good Friday, probably just another Covid 19 special, need a break from it.
Gogglebox and Saturday Night Dinner and then maybe the Mandalorian for me as my alternative.

I just think I will go crazy if I watch the LLS...

    Must be.

We all knew they came from the shop with no "bunny" involvement whatsoever.

Yeah heard the 9 o'clock news last night tell us that the Easter bunny has been given special permission to still travel despite the restrictions.

So the Easter bunny delivers eggs like Santa delivers toys?

I have never seen this mentioned before, not even last year. Must be a Facebook or some sort of social media nonsense invented by overbearing parents for their little ones.

I have 3 kids under 10 and they have always got their eggs from their parents, grannies and aunts or uncles.

Parents needing to come up with "magic" to make their charges behave.
In my day if you didn't cop on you wouldn't get any egg. Simple as that.

If Tubridy was any sort of a decent public broadcaster he would ask Hansard if there is any update on what happened to the Home Sweet Home/Apollo House Money. I'm not saying Hansard had anything to do with it but surely he has asked questions about it since

I remember the Easter bunny brought me a Chris Sutton corinthians figure in 2002, around that time they sold small football figures in a chocolate thing. I don't think I believed the easter bunny left it though. However in the past 10 years a load of wild rabbits are living in my areas gardens so I suppose the children now would believe it

I had that same thought yesterday. Did Simon Harris say the Easter bunny would still be allowed work?

My parents gave us the Easter eggs. Well, an easter egg. Made of gruel and porridge. And it was only once, on the one easter sunday we weren't sent to work with no shoes, cleaning industrial chimneys for 14 hours a day.

Kids these days. Just don't know how good they have it.

Are ya sure Ray FArcy wasn’t your Easter Bunny?

Some years ago I took an Easter trip to the Channel Island of Alderney, and there took the little train that serves the tourists and local parents & children. On board was the Easter Bunny who gave eggs to the children. BTW the train goes nowhere, served an old quarry.
