might be the wrong place to post here but i am hoping for some expert opinion, i had a digital weighing scales at home which turned out to be 7lb off, for the last 11 months i have been using the scales at the gym but obviously now they are closed.
so i am wondering what scales to get that would be the most accurate or should i hang tough for the gym scales, i am eager to hit a certain target by the end of the month and the gym could be closed for ages.

thanks in advance for any advice

    The internet isn’t for everyone

If you measure a fixed weight (like a bag of flour or dumbbell or something) every day before you hop on, and the fixed weight has the consistently same (but wrong) weight, you're probably still good to use your digital one? same flat surface every time?
if the fixed weight is fluctuating though yeah it's a problem

i have a renpho i got after a rec on here somewhere

I got one online but it's not all that different to the Aldi one I did have. I used weight the kettlebell I have before I stood on it to make sure it was in the right ball park.

Was the Lidl one always 7lbs off? Just +/- the 7lbs from what it shows

Is there a reason for the specific target? You can just use the Lidl one and gauge the difference between today and the end of the month. The absolute value might be out but the change in weight shouldn't be out by much.

I have a Salter MiBody, which I have found is fairly accurate which it needed to be for weighing in at comps.

i will check out that scales thanks
fitbit have a smart scales for 60 euro so i can compare the two online now

The reviews on Amazon will be poor for the Salter one because it's marketed as a smart scales with an app and that and I believe the app is pants. I just use it as a dumb scales. If you want a smarter one, Fitbit scales probably won't be any dearer if at all.

I just use mine to check whenever but especially around competitions when I need the scales to be accurate for making weight on the calibrated competition scales

I had/ have the same problem .over the years I have accumulated 3 different scales and they all give different weights! Sadly as they were in different rooms and I used them interchangably this made for a lot of happiness and tragedy!! I have discovered that putting them on lino versus wood floor versus carpet also changes their individual readings -as can having them on s slightly uneven wood floor as the slight curve/height difference of the floor can affect the weight reading -madness!! I now gave found the most favourable place to put the scales and have a few pencil dots so I put the scale in exactly the same place and I weighaway.I also track the 3 weights from the different scales from the same spot so I don’t get too carried away with the joy of good news! madness!

i like the idea of testing with a 1kg bag of flour -if only there was a supermarket in Ireland where you could buy one now!!!!
