Read all the stickies and couldn't find this covered, but let me know if it's been broached upon already!

My mother is over 66 and is self-employed; according the gov.ie website she's not eligible for the COVID-19 Pandemic Unemployment Payment because she's over 66.

What's her next course of action? The cashflow is only probably a few weeks out before the well runs dry, she's still paying mortgage, bills, debits etc etc.

Appreciate any feedback or anyone in similar issues?

assume her work has basically stopped?

she should at a minimum contact the mortgage provider and see what they can do on payments.
same for any loans etc, in my experience most are making efforts to reduce the financial strain as much as possible.

I know an over 65 taxi driver that was told he wouldn't be getting it because he is receipt of state pension. This sounds like the same thing. He pays tax on his earrings like everyone else

I guess some pensioners are more financially secure than others.
