Why does it seem people with some celebrity status are being prioritised for testing?

A short while ago it was announced that Ryan Tubridy had tested positive for Covid-19, apparently having only got ill a few days earlier as he had been broadcasting. Same with Ciara Kelly. Others, and those on front line medical care have been waiting over 10 days to even get a test. Am I imagining it or are people in the public eye getting tested ahead of others?

It seems they are because they are.

But you don’t know their medical situation, they may fit the priority status groups.

a few famous people getting tested and maybe coming up positive will do more to get the plebs to take this seriously than any amount of government announcements. sad but true.

How do you know Ryan was prioritized?
He was absent from the Late Late on Friday.

Why was Ryan given a job in RTE in the first place? Was it because his Grandfather was on the board of RTE at one time?

As I see from the testing thread some even at risk vulnerable people are waiting for tests or had cancellations but not for RTE elite

I don't wish this virus on anyone and think everyone should be tested imho but you do wonder how the back log isn't affecting some

His brother is the head physician of neurology in Vincent's add him and Ryan- how many people have they come into contact with

They aren't actually getting priority. They're paying to go to private clinics to get tested. Anyone with the money can do this. If you arrive before Tubridy you get tested before his Roland Rat arse.

"It seems" no evidence, so why start a thread that can only speculate?
