Adding surround sound speakers to a laptop

    Hi

Have been given a set of Panasonic SB-HW480 surround sound speakers. Have a laptop with no speakers worth speaking of. I was hoping to set the speakers up on the laptop.
Anyone know of a good, inexpensive way of doing this?

    Cheers and thanks...

Looks like you just need to output via optical-out.

The Creative Soundblaster X-Fi is probably your best bet.

I see there's cheaper USB sound cards (StarTech & TerraTec) but not sure if they're just pass-through.
