Dash Away? Brewdolf is by Five Lamps.

Brewdolph is this year's Molloy's Christmas beer, brewed for them by Trouble Brewing. It's a decent enough pale ale, I wouldn't be averse to having a few more of them.

Hi folks. I'm looking to buy a beer box (mix case, approx. 24 beers, various styles) as a Christmas present. Are there any recommendations? I realise I'm too late for the advent calender ones, but any other suggestions would be appreciated.

Martin's mix and match is another great option

Really nice mix, including their latest
    Cloudwater collab ESB
    and new
    Roc
, although judging by their latest email, got a
    Chocolate Coconut Dark Druid
    instead of the
    Mexican Hot Chocolate Dark Druid
. Not too disappointed as it’ll be their Stout Box anyways.

Arrived today too (along with a separate order of the bushmills tasting event box (unrelated) which for €10 is the bargain of the year)

The latest clann box gets 2 thumbs up from me and I'll be trying a christmassy
    egg nog ale
    .

    Update:
The beer above is not for me. Good jaysis! ðŸ€

Wylam - I'm Not Mary Imperial IPA 440ml Can 10.6% ABV

Am not normally one to spend almost a tenner on a beer!

But given it’s a Friday night and it’s
    10%+
    , I’d say it’s a sipper!
This is really good but a definite sipper..

.. thick but full of flavour!

I managed to get a bottle of their Boulevardier barrel aged barley wine. No idea when I'm going to drink it. I still have a 2014 bottle of O'Hara's barley wine in the cupboard!

I get the last bottle (on display) form Bradley’s for their special offer of €9.50 per bottle. Holding off till I get the Fathoms box set for the fancy glass to have it.

Craft Central Advent Calendar Day 5:
Larkin's - Morrigan Wild Turkey Bourbon Barrel Aged Imperial Stout 440ml Can 11.0% ABV

Seeing good reviews for this, though not something I would typically buy!

Ordered one in a recent CC order and loved it, although
    barrel aged stouts
are a favourite of mine. Loved it. Hope you enjoy

    Yeah, it's really good.

Bit sweeter than I'd typically enjoy, but tasty!

3 corker's in a row from Craft Central.. I'm expecting disappointment in tomorrow's choice but hope I'm wrong!

Fingers crossed that is not the case. I am sure out of 24 there will be some disappointing beers but hopefully the other half will like what I don't!

Craft Central Advent Calendar Day 6:
Whiplash - Never Cursed Grisette 440ml Can 4.1% ABV

    I like
    Whiplash
though not very familiar with a
    Grisette
    - reads a bit like a saison. Back to a more sensible
    4.1%
    for a Sunday night! :)

Let me know what you think of this one, I had one last night actually and
wasn't that impressed. I love whiplash but think they have much better beers that this, mostly higher ABV beers though.

    ^ I actually don't mind it..

.. kinda reminds me of a Brett but maybe not quite as carbonated and light.

Craft Central Advent Calendar Day 7:
Omnipollo - Braraba Mango Smoothie Sour 330ml Can 6.5% ABV

There was bound to be a
    sour
at some stage. Definitely need to be in the mood for them.. so may park that for a few days.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,710 ✭✭✭ciaran76

Missed a few days so adding them in :

Day 5 in the Beerclub Advent Calendar was
    Modestbeer Sabro Pale Ale!
quite enjoyed the taste but thought it was a bit flat.

Day 6 in the Beerclub Advent Calendar was
    Brehon Blonde from Brehon Brewery
    nice clean beer.

Day 7 in the Beerclub Advent Calendar is
Mayfield 5 Pilsner by Cottonball brewery
Dont think I had this before.

That's the main thing that put me off getting any of the advent calendars. I'm just not a fan of that style at all and knowing my luck I'd end up with several of them in whatever box I bought.

Yeah same reason I wouldn't buy one.

Same. Sours just dont do it for me.

The WH Eggnog Ale and Coconut Stout weren't easy to drink. Just not to my taste at all.

12 x 440ml cans of Worlds End Imperial Stout (€51)

    12 x 440ml cans of Ace of Haze Idaho 7 Edition (€43)

    8 x 330ml Cans Kinsale Pale ale (€20)

    8 x 330ml Cans Session (€20)

    8 x 330ml Cans Ace of Haze (€20)

    Total of €152.50

    REDUCED TO JUST €77

Did anyone order this? I've had a 24 box of the pale ales delivered but no World's End or Ace of Haze Idaho 7. Is that maybe coming seperately? Not having any luck with my online orders of late...

I got it, arrived pretty quick with both boxes well taped together, give them a shout, they were very good when I had a previous order missing some stuff

Ha. Mixed boxes certainly aren't for me anymore but not because of sours - I'd happily take a mixed box of sours. There are just far too many beer styles out there that I have zero interest in drinking. I'd say I'd be lucky to want to drink a third of any box!
