You LOSE weight and your trousers become LOOSE.

John keeps LOSING his car keys.

Please Boards sort it out. Rant over.

Reallly? I loose the head when people keep saying literally this, or literally that.
Sure it's all the trend, along with the ever annoying 'Reallllly'? (see above).

Even for stuff that literally isn't even literal in any sense (not an exact meaning, or meaningful accurate metaphor).
Anyway stick this also in your newsletter and don't loose it, lose it, lost it, uh whatever...

Being gooder at grammer and spellings then anyone else just shows your good at following rules. You know who else was good at following rules? Nazi's.

I bet the SS scum were good at grammer.

I find it amazing that anyone cares...

People are lazy with spelling and grammar since texting and the internet came along. I guess it's different for the people who grew up with all this internet technology and didn't see the decline in English usage as adults.

And... OP... Lose/Loose is not just an Irish thing. I teach EFL, and it's a common mistake worldwide.

    There
    Their
    They're

If someone can master the use of the above then it's a great start. You read people writing impassioned stuff but bad spelling immediately discredits their musings for me, as in, if you didn't even take the time to use grammar properly then you won't be taken seriously because good grammar and spelling shows "dictation" manners so to speak. See it regularly with social media businesses. They don't spell check and it looks unprofessional.

I'm not a Grammar Nazi. There is no doubt in my mind that I make many spelling and grammar errors. However, if I was going to criticise, particularly on a light-hearted forum such as this I would first make sure my own grammar was perfect.
