In the stayers it appears that Richard Johnson is to ride Apple's Jade. While Shattered Love is to be ridden by Mark Walsh in the ryanair. Very strange that Davy Russell isn't riding both mares. Wonder is there another rift between the O'Leary's and Davy?

Concertista possibly my bet of the week tomorrow in the mares novice. She was just touched off at a huge price in this last year, she ran a good race in a hot handicap at leopardstown last time giving Black Tears two pounds as a close up third. Black Tears runs in the coral cup today if she runs well expect her price to collapse. 10/1 widely available. Being s second season novice probably a plus here

Picks for Thursday. I have said all along that if Apples Jade turns up anywhere she is being backed. I am on, not huge but got some nice exchange prices and a few quid in shops and online at 14's. I have not backed her each way as I think she either beats them all or will not be placed. I might regret that if Paisley park nabs her at the finish but I think if she is fit and in the humour she will wipe them all up. Good luck baby.

    1.30 Mister Fisher ( sorry everyone ), Faugheen ( ok then )
2.10 Dream Berry, Fred the foot, Copper Gone West
    2.50 A Plus Tard
    3.30 Apples Jade
    4.10 Oldgrangewood
    4.50 Colreevy
    5.30 La Brueil

    Faugheen
    Sire de Barlais
    Min
    Summerville Boy Apples EW.

Have Fugheen doubled with Percy too.

Will wait and see not one winner yet but always get one good day during the festival.

Big time Dave. Black Tears beat her off 133 she was an excellent second off 144 today. She should go close tomorrow all going well.

I just put a few quid down at 13/2 now. It will go close. Form of Deyrann De Carjac also looks good. Blazer has been threatening to win one big one for ages and mcmanus is on fire so will cover.

13.30 Itchy Feet the main bet but have a battered docket on Samcro. Amazing to see he's now steaming in to rival being favourite for this. The word that he's firing again must have some legs. I'd be a complete soppy mess if he won.

14.10 Skandiburg my only bet although I am tempted to look through this again, especially after today.

14.50 All in on Min here.

15.30 Penhill for interest, close to a no bet race. Think Paisley odds on is shocking value when you compare him to Big Bucks and even Thistlecrack. Yes he's the current champ and it isn't a strong division but that price is shocking. Has to be a lay at that price although hard to see what can beat him.

16.10 My two fancies at long odds are NRs for this. Deyrann de Carjac is my bet here instead and LBAR too...didn't think she'd run here but there you go.

    16.50 Dolcita

17.30 Hon Fitzhenry! Have Milan Native too after a lot of good chatter about the horse in recent times.

Wading my way through the Kim Muir for starters , got a full point apiece on BOB MAHLER 20/1 and MILITARIAN at a silly looking 66/1 .

He is down to ride Samcro in the first tomorrow, so seems odd he is not riding Apples Jade. It is worth noting that she spat the dummy when he rode her at Gowran, maybe they reckon she doesn't like Russell:o? But it seems odd enough that he does not ride Shattered Love. They are both mares, but that must be a coincidence. Russell has never ridden Samcro before.

4.10 Not Another Muddle 22/1 ew (pp power up)

Really fancy this horse and heres why.

26 of the last 28 winners were rated no higher than 141. (Only horse below that mark in the race)
Trainer has had 1 win and 3 places in the race from 6 runners.
Off the track for a year but goes well fresh having won when returning from a 9 month break..
5th last season in the Grand Annual so has course and festival form and goes well in big fields.

Melon in first. Would love to see Faigheen win but form severly exposed today. Annie Mc best of the rest. Can't listen to any more excuses about Samcro.

Min I suspect wins but Frodon will make it the race of the festival - on the nod.

Concertista form franked as Pentre points out. Ard Abhainn will be backed also. I'm confident one of those wins.

Fitzhenry is due a big one. Kilfilum Cross to cover.

Never won money on the Thursday before. Wont get to see most of it, so the first time I pick right, I'll only have a few small bets. Its just not the same backing without watching. Good luck

13:30 - Faugheen had visions of him going on to be a 180+ rated hurdler until injury struck. Still holds plenty of ability and there is no way he should be bigger in price then Samcro. I think the money will come for him tomorrow. Would be great if he won.
14:10 - Welsh Saint going with the hot trainer here as nothing looks like it's been thrown in. Well treated on form. Steady improvement this campaign.
14:50 - A Plus Tard ticks all the right boxes and a clear standout in a mediocre race. Hard to oppose.
15:30 - Paisley Park near heart attack material if you're on big but always worth it. Penhill in the w/o market.
16:10 - Oldgrangewood has C&D form and looks fairly treated.
16:50 - Concertista hoping she goes one better this year
17:30 - Kilfilum Cross hoping he goes one better this year.

    Best of luck to everyone!!

Davy swinging aboard Samcro 4 lengths in front into the home turn and they all rowing away in behind. Pings the last and the Irish punters are jumping with joy

Cabaret Queen was running a cracker at Leopardstown before taking a dive after a bit of bother from loose horses 4 out.
She didn't go a yard in the Hennessy but was obviously fancied by Mullins that day.
If she can get into a rhythm early doors I think she'll love the conditions and make a mockery of the 28s on offer. O'Hare hopefully the man to get her in tune and gallop the other bastards into the ground.

Also, I don't see what beats Faugheen tomorrow, barring himself. Tis almost like the racing gods have rerouted the half decent horses elsewhere to let Faugheen write his own history.

Best value of the festival ew in my view
McWilliams love the soft, 2nd to Champ, 1 bad run in 7 races when returning from a break....

A Plus Tard is as close to a good thing as you’ll find. Anyone backing Min hasn’t a clue and obviously can’t read form lines.

Paisley Park has beaten nearly all of this field before (all except City Island as far as I know ‘z

    Min has the better form.
If you are taking a plus tard win over chacun on face value you would also have to accept a plus tard loss on its seasonal debut, same thing im afraid,
Chacun wasn't fit that day hence ordinary world 6 lengths behind in 3rd.
Min will win today barring accidents.
    you've been warned.

1:30: Faugheen. Would be amazing if he does it.
    2:10: Relegate.
    2:50: A Plus Tard.
    3:30: Paisley Park.
4:10: Simply the Betts’ form looks rock solid.
    4:50: Floressa.
    5:30: Plan of Attack.

    Pu,tailed off,23 lengths,6 lengths,12 lengths,28 lengths,30 lengths,15lengths,9 lengths.
Thats the distances min has beaten ordinary world in all of there chases.
So you clearly have no idea what your talking about.
The 6 and 9 length wins where races that min was odds on and he won without being asked for much effort.

It took HDB 2 runs to realize APT is not a 2 mile champion chaser. Totally different prospect over 2 1/2+. Would worry about Min getting up that hill in this ground especially with it being on the new course. GL

A Plus Tard wasn’t running over his optimum trip. Min always gets this credit for finishing just in behind Altior so many times at the Festival, but I’d say the horse doesn’t know how to win there now. Not that he’ll have to worry about, A Plus Tard will be in a different parish from him.
