QUEENS BROOK is the one jumping out at me in the bumper - looks like a potentially very exciting mare. She fetched a big price in the sales last November and couldn’t have been more impressive in winning at Gowran recently despite not beating a whole lot in terms of quality. Currently 2nd Fav with PP at 7/1, she’s clearly come in for a bit of money as well. With the mare’s allowance and Jamie Codd presumably on board, there are a lot of positives about her. Whether she’s good enough to take a big step forward remains to be seen but I think I may take a chance on her over the favourite, Appreciate It.

I'm leaning the same way,was especially interested in codds interview after that win that he said he was looking forward to this one before it won, he obviously knew she was a bit special.
    Bit of fayonagh about her.

The way she showed gears through the mud late on was very impressive visually, i wouldnt know if clock figures were good etc but she looked good.

Appreciate it has been in all the specials so i would be weary and in the bumper at cheltenham you always have to take the fav on going by history.

Nicky Henderson said the same on the Monday of Cheltenham 2018.

My week is make or break in the Champion Chase and its not Altior or Chacun...its Dynamite Dollars.
Ive gone in a few times at 20s, in each way singles and lucky 15s, when I seen him run at Newbury behind Altior.
Nicholls, the maestro with 2m Chasers, has won this race five times with four different horses. He would have left him undercooked that day at Newbury but still put in a brilliant round and the trainer will have him spot on for the big one.
With doubts about Altior now, and even Min and A Plus Tard are unlikely, I can see him going off 8/1 third favourite on the day.

I have Battleoverdoyen 12/1 ante-post. Fell at Leopardstown last month which isn't ideal but I'm bullish nonetheless.

Allaho confirmed RSA. Get in you beauty.

    Picks for Wednesday

1.30 Envoi Allen, Son of Camas
2.10 Castlebawn West ew, Pym ew, Slate House (win only)
    2.50 Alfa Mix, Stratum
3.30 Small win only Dynamite Dollars
    4.10 no bet
    4.50 Palladium
    5.30 Darling Daughter

I have had a fairy large swipe on Palladium in the Fred Winter. Paddy Power are 5 places. Nicky Henderson has no Triumph entry and I can't help thinking this is his best 4 year old.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,194 ✭✭✭FatRat

The RSA has suddenly become a very tough prospect, both to win and for betting. I was nearly sure both Easy Game and Allaho would go to the Marsh. Both coming here doesn't make much sense..

I do like Minella Indo for this but will be staying away now since there is no change to his price today. Skybet gone 4 places might be the only reason it's worth looking at from a betting point of view.

Envoi Allen is 1.66 on the machine. Mother of jesus didn't see that coming.

One bet for me in the Coral . Have to stick with Byrnes"s horse , Those Days are Gone . Backed him at Leopardstown and he won by the smallest of margins , I think there was a bit more in the tank . Ideal conditions , anyone got an opinion???

    1.30 Envoi Allen

    2.10 Minella Indo and Copperhead

2.50 Canardier and Top Moon E/W

    3.30 Defi De Seuil

    4.10 Easyland and Neverushacon E/W

    4.50 Aramax

5.30 Panic Attack and Ferny Hollow

Lay the mortgage on Tiger Roll and Paisley Park to both get beat on Thurs if Envoi Allen gets beat. Would have won the Hurdle today on the snaff. Be typical if he gets beat tomorrow. RSA is a beauty of a race. I'd love if Might Bite won the x Country, what a scene that'd be.

1:30 The Big Getaway. EW Really liked the last run. Can see him getting a place.
    2:10 Minella Info
    2:50 Birchdale

That's what I've come up with so far. Will see how the market is shaping for the rest in the morning

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,980 ✭✭✭Lucy8080

Bachasson (mullins) in the Coral is 20/1 in the shops at the moment. Townend opted for another mullins horse. Bachasson's price might be a little inflated because of this. That said, mullins has a few in this. I like the look Bachasson ,all the same.

Michael O'Leary to go off on a rant and more equivocation re Tiger Roll's participation in Grand National.

Some unfunny comedian/impressionist on ITV and presenters fake laughing along.

Ruby still annoyed about BDD not being good enough.

    Some mention of Bryony Frost..

    2.50 Traffic Fluide

    4.10 Urgent De Gregaine

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 910 ✭✭✭howareyakid

1:30: Envoi Allen. Hopefully the Irish banker of the week comes through.
2:10: Might be overthinking this but I think something down the market might not be without its chance here and I like the chances of Slate House e/w.
    2:50: Champagne Well e/w.
3:30: Chacun Pour Soi to back up Punchestown from.
    4:10: Tiger.
4:50: Seems to be a lot of plots here. The Elliott runners seem very interesting particularly Tronador who has come in for a support but I think I’ll take a chance on Repetitio e/w.
    5:30: Queens Brook.

Easyland to defeat Tiger Roll in the Cross Country for me. To do what it has done at 6 years of age is just incredible there's improvement to come on its last run. Tiger Roll should be favourite, but 4/5 is an insult of a price considering it's not a given that any horse is guaranteed to get into a good rhythm.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 16,926 ✭✭✭✭Francie Barrett

2:10 - With Hills paying out 4 place in this race it would be rude not to take the 66/1 on offer for Castlebawn West here. The step up in trip will suit I think, and can see this plugging on and nabbing a place.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 627 ✭✭✭zpehtsfd

13:30 - Envoi Allen impossible to oppose. Different class. Easywork e/w in the w/o market.
14:10 - Allaho exciting novice with C&D form. Lack of experience would be a slight worry.
14:50 - Dame De Compagnie clearly enjoys it around Cheltenham. In form trainer and on a handy mark
15:30 - Defi Du Seuil just love how this horse travels in his races. Testing conditions will really suit. Please play it cool Barry. NAP
16:10 - Sit back and hopefully watch the legend win
    16:50 - No idea
17:30 - Appreciate It ultra impressive in last race. Looks like he has speed and stamina to boot. Perfect combo for this race. Queens Brook w/o market.

    Best of luck to everyone!!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,436 ✭✭✭dartboardio

    13.30 - Easy work (ew) 22/1.
    - Big breakaway 9/1 win

    14.10 - Champ to win 7/2

    17.30 - Queens Brook ew 17/2

Unsure who to go for on the rest of the earlier races

Day drinking has a lot to answer for, in bed by eight, asleep by half nine, awake by 2am. Today's gonna be a day for the watching, I think, some wild races going on. That being said...

    13:30 – Easywork – E/W – 14/1
    14:10 – Easygame – E/W – 11/
    14:50 – Dame De Comapgnie – Win – 7/1
    14:50 – Traffic Fluide – E/W – 20/1
    15:30 – Chacun Pour Soi – Win – 3/2
    16:10 – Nowt
    16:50 – Tronador – E/W – 15/2
    17:30 – Panic Attack – E/W – 10/1

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 212 ✭✭FiftyP

I added another one, Black Tears at 14/1 EW. I had it for the Mares Hurdle NRNB earlier in the week so it seems it's only right to take it up again. I've three horses in this race now. One win and two e/w. Going for six places paid enhanced odds I'm hoping for biggun in this.

    2:10: battleoverdoyen e/w 11/1
    2:50: top moon e/w 17.51/1
    4:10: urgent de gregaine e/w 12/1
    4:50: larger dan e/w 28/1
    5:50: queens brook e/w 13/2
