You can check your account activity on https://account.live.com/Activity
However, rule off thumb would be: If not certain about legitimacy of source(including one above :D), don't follow links in it, instead, sign in to your account directly from the browser.

There was published cases where similar message was attempt to steal credentials, could be someone actually tried to break in to your account or someones account very similar to yours and they made typo mistake

I meant do you have a Microsoft live account which you signed up to with that Gmail account?

If not, don't worry about it.

If you do, id change the password on it.

You can add any domain as an alias to MS account

or create MS account by using gmail(other)

Scam, you can usually tell by the email address, it would be @micrisoft.com if it were legit, or Microsoft inc, but a department name would never appear after @, only before it

Well..., consider changing your password creation scheme/style/algorithm

Why do you post when you clearly have no idea what you are talking about and can't even spell Microsoft?

If you click reply to what address is showing in the reply field?

I can't tell from what you shown us if its 100% legit or not as would need to see the full header but if you use the same password on any other sites linked to that email change them.

Also make sure any sites using that email make sure to change the password on them.

    Totally wrong: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/13967/microsoft-account-unusual-sign-in
If you aren't sure about the source of an email, check the sender. You'll know it's legitimate if it's from the Microsoft account team at account-security-noreply@accountprotection.microsoft.com.
Doesn't mean the OP's email is legitimate, but your statement is definitely wrong

Delete the email, Log into your account and change the password just to be sure..
