What's the best accent on a lad or girl?

I find girls with Derry accents the best. You? :)

I like the use of the "soft" prefix for nordie accents. I would definitely agree though, it can't be beat.

Galway accent for a woman, laid back but confident at the same time.

I'm scared of people from Kerry.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 10,633 ✭✭✭✭Widdershins

I have a serious weakness for the Kirry accent.

Most likely a "SoCoDu" or whatever epithet the vacuous ones ascribe to themselves. So not a real Dub (and please note, Dub uses a capital 'd'.)😂
To tell the truth, I've often read her recipes, but just cant stand her accent, so never watch her shows.

Edit: this would read better if the smileys worked.

Apologies all, I'm wayyyy off topic.

This woman doing the Bank of Ireland ad has the loveliest accent, I adore it. I would marry her hands down based on the sound of her voice alone.

I’d say the rolling hills of Westmeath. They’re a little bit country just enough escapism for a city boy there’s a real purity; in the air there. Always refreshing

My dentist has a sexy northern Irish accent. I think it's a Belfast accent. It makes going to the dentist a little bit easier. I sit back in the chair, petrified with my eyes tightly shut closed and I like listening to him talk to the dental nurse.

The Ross O'Carroll Kelly books and have made me think South County Dublin girls have a very sexy accent.

Couldn't afford one of them though.

The accent in Clare is very pleasant to listen to. The Kerry one I usually need a translator, heh.

Soft Kerry or Donegal accents on a woman.
As a Galwegian talking to women from outside the county...
Her" I can't place your accent"
    Me " I haven't got one"

Well in my preferred sex situation, the lady is moaning in so much pleasure you can't determine an accent. ;)

    This too shall pass.

They're pretty cheap. You'll find a lot of the earlier editions in charity shops for a quid or two.

It's as pleasant as a rusted saw cutting through teeth.

The Americanised accent of them is deplorable, surely they must be aware of it when talking amongst themselves, and maybe that's why they have no souls too.

    Monaghan/Tyrone accent.

Soft Galway accent with a bit of husk to it, oh yas.

The Cavan accent would have grated before, but then Mrs Reilly from the Aldi ad appeared. Double oh yas.

Niamh Algar has the perfect accent for me, well spoken but not posh. She's from Mullingar I believe.

Good Cork accent if it's not too strong, again lovely.
