Car insurance - alternative premium

Hi Folks Got the usual insurance info in the post today. A weighty tome indeed. Buried in the small tree they cut down to produce it is an Alternative Premium Statement which is €80 cheaper than the quote supplied by my broker. Is this a new thing? Does it mean I can go for that cheaper quote? I've been quite lazy the past…

When I had that in the past, the main quote was to replace the existing policy with an equivalent, and the alternative was for a policy with slightly worse benefits. You're free to take whichever you prefer.
