    Hi

I have a WD My Cloud 2tb network drive this is used for all normal everyday storage ie office docs etc and it also acts as my media drive so has movies and music on a seperate partition

I back this up daily to a WD external usb3 drive and to date all has worked fine

I am now creaking as the 2tb drive is almost full can anyone tell me best option for upgrade

I would need Network drive and a backup

    Thanks
    XL500

If you're happy with it just buy one of the newer larger ones.

The app just mounts an SMB share for you, its a roundabout way to the same thing. Unless you're a linux user then its a bit of a pain but with SSH support you can work around it.

I'm connected to the 3TB as we speak:
    root@WDMyCloud root # df -h
Filesystem Size Used Available Use% Mounted on
    %root% 54.2M 34.5M 16.9M 67% /
    /dev/ram0 54.2M 34.5M 16.9M 67% /
    mdev 251.2M 32.0K 251.2M 0% /dev
    /dev/sda3 976.1M 195.7M 754.4M 21% /boot
    /dev/sda7 976.1M 1.5M 948.5M 0% /usr/local/config
    /dev/loop0 94.1M 94.1M 0 100% /usr/local/modules
    tmpfs 1.0M 0 1.0M 0% /mnt
    tmpfs 40.0M 1.3M 38.7M 3% /var/log
    tmpfs 100.0M 5.0M 95.0M 5% /tmp
    /dev/sda4 928.9M 2.3M 910.6M 0% /mnt/HD_a4
    /dev/sda2 2.7T 1.5T 1.2T 55% /mnt/HD/HD_a2
