hi folks, herself bought a cross trainer for use at home as she's getting more active and since it's there and I BADLY need to do more exercise (and do something about belly fat) I hopped on. Did two 20 minute sessions in the last 3 days but does anyone have any advice on realistically what I'll need to be doing to see it make a difference? Thanks

Diet, training will make very little difference on it's own, bellyfat wise, diet is by far the most important, that said, if you can combine a decent diet with exercise then results should happen faster.

BTW, I'd go for min 30 min sessions (per day, broken up if need be) for a good exercise target.

If exercise alone maybe 3 to 4 hours per day 5 days a week ;-) . Any more than 30min and you will get fed up with it . If you pick a constant time keep track of any changes to up the intensity as a motivation/challenge. Also mix it up with HIIT later as your fitness improves and if the machine is decent quality and can take a hammering, there will be videos on Youtube to suggest routines.

Less food and beer, healthier food, and more exercise,
it's a lifestyle change you need, not a quick fix.
If you are serious try 20 minutes every day for a week,
then turn up the distance as you get better, add walks into the equation,
the regime is lifestyle change, either you want it or you don't,
don't mean to sound harsh at all and hope you stick to it,
    but that's the bare truth

Thanks folks, definitely part of a wider life style change. Going back zswimmimg but know I need something more active too and the cross trainer is Handy. Will start with 20 mins then and work up to 30 and kick on.
