    Hi folks,

I'll dicky this up and make it prettier later but seeing as people are already discussing it.

You are allowed to submit 10 songs from the year 2000-2009 to me via PM.

The songs must have charted in the UK, US OR Ireland to be eligible (cannot be an album track in other words)

Once we have enough songs I will close nominations and run the tournament which will be done in knock out format.

    Let the games begin!!

Do any of the US Charts count or just the mainstream chart?

I struggled badly to get this to ten.

These were literally the soundtrack to my teens and early 20s so some amazing memories

I’ll struggle too. For different reasons though.

There’s actually loads of songs that I love and I’m already at 10 with a tonne more that I want to add.

I thought the noughties wouldn’t stress me out but it is!

List sent, was tough to list just 10, hopefully the songs I left out will be picked up by others.

Sent. You lot better have included in your list those that I had to leave out!

This is tougher than I thought it would be. Thought '80s and '90s would be the hardest in terms of making cuts, but this is proving to be just as brutal.

I love S club! Went to one of their concerts too :D

I saw them last year just Jo Bradley and Tina...

Jo and Bradley are carrying Tina!! Bradley announced to the crowd that he's 40...it was a sobering moment!!

I've my own to add yet :D

I'll leave it open for about a week and then maybe start post WW I think.

Gonna be fairly limited timewise in hosting cos I can't post off anything other than my phone at work so it'll be evening times anyways

    I sent mine just now.

I realised that through the noughties my taste shifted to various genres, so there is some variety in my choices (whereas in the 80's competition I only went for pop songs).
In 2 cases I had 2 selections from the same band and I picked the one I would consider less obvious, thinking that someone else would nominate the obvious ones.
Anyway, like in the 80s game, I don't expect any of my choices to go far, but I will enjoy following the action!!!

Necro, thank you very much for organising this.

Upcoming gigs and events: Nova Twins, Tanita Tikaram, David Byrne

    Submitted my entry

I think people would be lucky enough to maybe know 2/3 of my nominations

This is very tough, although the requirement for charting does help whittle it down a bit (a few on my shortlist were singles but didn't chart). Gonna have to hope some of those I left out will have been nominated by others.

Guys, someone's got to nominate the obvious ones! Don't think I've got room on my list either :p

Where in a chart do they need to have placed?

Don't know if there's any threshold, was just going by the OP:

I suppose you could argue that any single ever released charted somewhere even if it's at #5,000. I just checked Wikipedia for my list and if there was no number listed beside it then I didn't include it. But others might have a different method, it did help me trim the list down a bit anyway!
