Leinster travelling to the only team this season to give them a decent game in the RDS.

Treviso have been decent at home this season - some good wins and some tight defeats, I fear this match more than the last two games.

That said I think we are only missing 4 players from our best possible 23 - Sexton, Kelleher, Fardy and Conan, so we should have enough to get it done comfortably enough, particularly when we only need a win.

Agreed, don't think this will be a 5 pointer, but we don't need it to be a 5 pointer, any win and we're top seed. We sent a strong side earlier in the season to Benetton and beat them well enough without conceding many points, would be nice to get a repeat of that.

Treviso with nothing to play for, 6 of the 23 watching themselves for the 6 nations, reserves in many positions.....
Leinster needing the win at least for top spot so that will keep the benetton at arms length.... and are scoring for fun these days.

bookies have leinster -17 and ive taken that

It wasnt actually. It ended 27-32. It was 27-22 to Benetton going into the last quarter. That one swung one way and then the other throughout.

I think a 5 pointer will result in the most points ever accumulated in the pool stages of the Euro cup, 29.

Joint most, it has been done before. Biarritz did it in 2007.

Starting to drizzle here now, not as bad as what was forecast. Still saying 70/80% from kick off time though, going to be a wet one which would suit them I’d say.

If anyone has a stream feel free to PM. No joy at all today.

Ringrose get a bit of a clobber in the head in that phase of play?

That nearly backfired on Lowe there, everyone else just looked asleep

Get that man into the lineout.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 21,732 ✭✭✭✭Squidgy Black

Treviso pls. You're already out, just let us have the 5 points and roll over.

    Peter O'Mahony doesn't like this post. ;)

7 penalties conceded in 24 mins. This is an absolute joke

Shocking start to this match by Leinster. Penalty after penalty giving away. Going to be a long day

By the looks of it that's exactly what Leinster thought before kickoff. Abject display so far.

Leinster pack looking lazy and getting completley outworked, theyre sitting back expecting things to just happen for them without having to fight for it.....poor showing so far

Treviso aren't being reffed. The state of that maul.

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,248 ✭✭✭kingofthekong

Ross Byrne also having a shocker

    This will finish 3-0.

It's been such a strange performance so far. We haven't really been getting quick ball, and Treviso have had a number of turnovers because our pack aren't getting the clearouts. Discipline has been shocking too.

Conditions are fairly poor, but it's been the polar opposite of what we've seen so far this year and it's a bit concerning.

    A real classic this.

    At last!

These guys need a rollicking at half time!

It's the same every time we play Benetton. They are really good at slowing down ball and just play a low risk attacking game. We need to be better at dealing with it though,

5 points look like a pipe dream here. This game looking more and more like a a major banana skin.

He was just roaring at 10 white to stop, 10 white completely ignores him, and he just plays on?

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,248 ✭✭✭kingofthekong

Leinster are so passive and sluggish

  • Administrators Posts: 54,293 Admin ✭✭✭✭✭awec

Leinster look like they thought they just had to turn up and Treviso wouldn't be arsed.

    Don't need five points

And then said he didn't make the tackle, when he clearly did.

Refs been a bit poor, especially missing jacklers not holding their own weight.

Is it worth looking for a stream?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 12,619 ✭✭✭✭errlloyd

It's actually weirdly decent to watch in the stadium. Fans are class and the seats have a good view.

If the second half is anything like the first, unless you fancy going for a nap I'd say no.

Is it worth looking for a stream?

I'd recommend Operation Transformation on RTÉ 1.

No messing there by the ref

    Jesus bit harsh there

    What a brutal throw.

Refs review footage at half time too, I'd imagine he came out intending to penalise Benetton for some of the breakdown shenanigans in the first half.

You’d question the Leinster tactic of one or two bodies in each ruck. Allows them to just keep blasting us out of it and keep their momentum

Oh sure, but I was just referring to the earlier post which mentioned that if we get 5 it will match the joint record points haul.

Dreadful kick by Ringrose, complete waste of momentum

  • Registered Users Posts: 4,108 ✭✭✭blackcard

Leinster have had very little possession in this match yet the first thing they do when they get possession is to kick it away again

Of all the reasons why we are struggling here, I dont think this is one. Treviso are dogged and Leinster are playing massively within themselves.

The attempted grubber kicks are maddening.
Like we don't trust the players to break down the Treviso defence

Ah, the pitch is a mess and the conditions aren't great. Very heavy looking underfoot, so throwing it around isn't the best idea. Some of the kicks have been poor though.

Sobering to think that we are looking at most of the Irish team here. Dreadful, dreadful display

Finally a bit of intent there.

Then have a think about the fact they haven't lost a match this season and have walloped basically everyone they've played and maybe you'll feel a bit better.
