I was the one who nominated Radiohead's Karma Police.

I was the one who nominated Radiohead's Karma Police.

I nominated Creep. I know they had better singles later as they developed as a band, but it's still probably my favourite of theirs because it's the song that introduced them to me.

I definitely didn't nominate any Prodigy songs. :D

    I didn't nominate either... I knew I wouldn't have to!

I nominated Street Spirit for Radiohead, didn't nominate any Prodigy though. I restricted myself to 1 nomination per artist, otherwise I could have submitted 10 just from Radiohead, Smashing Pumpkins, Nick Cave or Björk.

On which note, the lack of Björk appreciation has been the saddest bit of this competition for me - I settled on Bachelorette after much deliberation (which then got knocked out) and then saw All Is Full of Love and Big Time Sensuality both get knocked out too. But I would have expected at least one of Venus as a Boy, Play Dead, Army of Me, Hyperballad or Isobel to get a nod as well. :(

Lauryn Hill (Great nomination whoever it was)
That was me, not that it did much good. >_< Also nominated Frozen, which went out in the same round.

Utter savages you people are. *shakes head sadly*

I nominated No Good (Start the Dance) as I still play it 20 years on.

I would never nominate Radiohead as their music would put years on you, but Karma Police has a great video. Creep reminds me of the Gaeltacht, mid-90s :D

I think I only have 2 left. I think the stone Rose's waterfall is still there and maybe primal scream loaded ?

All the rest of them have long since hit the wayside

Sorry Rikand, Alabama 3 took out Waterfall, it's one of 3 I still have left. If it helps, Loaded is one of the other two. :)

    Whilst we’re killing time.

I was thinking about an alternative way of voting using an out of ten method for the first round. All songs are up (in batches) and we have a fixed amount of time to listen to them all and submit scores.

Then it reverts back to randomly putting 2 songs against each other and the winner being the first to get to X amount of votes.

How do the two songs come up against one another?
Is it just a complete random pairing?

They are randomly paired with only those that got more than one vote getting a buy into the next round. I think that’s what kolido said.

Wasn't sure but Kolido's list confirms I've two still left. I was doing much better at the same stage in the 80s! :(

Three of my nominations are still there!

I've 6 left but this is a tough crowd so I'm not optimistic!

Does anyone have any "qualifier" nominations still in the contest, i.e. the ones that only you nominated so had to go through a qualifying round? I have one of those still left.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,216 ✭✭✭khalessi

Not sure what I have left
