I went to this coffee shop near me.

Firstly the slowest barristas i have ever encountered. They seemed to be just ignore the massive que and chat to each other.

I had to use the toilet before i left.

Firstly you have to get a code off the baristsa before you could use it. Yes this business thinks its VITAL VITAL to protect their toilet faciliates with a fully up to date security system you have go get the code from a barrista which means you have to cue up again to get to talk to one.

Then you enter the toilet area. There is a handicapped toilet with a baby changing symbol and a toilet with a gents symbol. I assume its unisex. I try to go in. A man in the que tells me its gents only.

I go out again to ask a barrista (que again) where the ladies is. She says the handicapped toilet is also the ladies i was meant to know this with the baby changing symbol.

I go back (enter in code again) and try to enter the handicapped toilets ...its locked.

I just wait and use the gents.

I walk in ITS FILTHY ....i am not saying because its the gents it is filthy. I mean it is filthy because it hasn't been cleaned in days. There is no toilet paper and obviously no sanitary bin. So i KNOW its not a unisex. Its really just a gents.

    I just found it odd.

    There RANT OVER!

I find it odd that given a choice between using a Men's and a Disabled, that you used the Mens.

If the Disabled symbol didn't indicate 'Women Also', then certainly the Men symbol didn't, after all ?

You should have just identified as a man and went in to the mens jax and pissed standing up

Read it again. I tried to use the disabled toilets they were locked.

The mens was definitely only men there was no sanitary bin in there. And I NEEDED ONE OF THOSE

I like how you managed to spell queue wrong every time but not always in the same way. Impressive.

Never travel in SE Asia, you'll get a quick wake up call (I'd love to say 'kick up the hole', but it'd be too fitting for this thread).

Infact, when we're travelling, the toilets would be so bad, we'd just treat it as a game.... "who can find the mankiest toilet" - starts horrifying, by the end of the trip it's a bit of craic.

Back in yer box, ya flippin' snowflake.

If they didn't have a code, heroin addicts would go in and use the toilet to shoot up, and occasionally overdose and die.

At least that's probably the excuse they would use.

I would never go back again. Slowest service EVER. The que kept getting longer and longer ...it was taking ten minutes for them to serve one person and they seemed to be totally relaxed about this.

And who has a code you have to go to the counter for the freaking toilets in a coffee shop!?

What happened next, did you go to the disabled toilet after?

The other toilet had a handicapped sign with a baby changing sign nothing about gender. But it was actually locked anyway.

I didn't bother to asked them to open it ...it would have meant getting in a long que again.

They lock'em to stop drug users going in and shooting up. It's why theres no public toilets in Dublin anymore.

I should have been scum and flushed the sanitary towel and risked clogging their toilet!

    They deserved it!

I don't need to read it again. I haven't misunderstood anything.

Sensibly, if it was locked you should have gone back out again, and asked for it to be unlocked.

The possibility of finding a sanitary bin in a Mens' toilet is not high. The hope of finding one there, not too reasonable.

Sign said vacant ...we said hello ...no answer.

There was a que of desperate ladies at this point ..no idea what to do. We all ended up using gents.

And even the gents came out saying the toilet was disgusting. So it wasn't just us.

    I would be absolutely fuming.
If I'd to que to get a code from the counter to use the loo after queuing to order a coffee, I'd probably access the situation and not bother queuing, and just basically...you know...Fcuk off over to the nearest Maccy D's if I were really bursting for a pish.

    Hot dang!

Well then, it's your own fault.

I have NEVER seen such a bin as you required in a Men's toilet. I have seen them countless times in a Disabled/Baby Changing.

There was a pub in a village I used to drink in, where there was no ladies bathroom. They just used the adjoining houses toilet. And no one complained.

    Simpler times!

I am not exactly pissed off.

I just think its really weird and kinda dumb to be that badly organized for your customers.

if there was more than one of you, could one not have re-entered the Queue and asked the staff, that's what we usually do, one finds a table the other goes to the counter?

The QUEUE! to get to see one of the baristas at the counter was about 15 mins long!

Ah now. We can't be using words like gents and ladies anymore. No no no, there's no tolerance for that sort of basic biology in the world anymore! It's all gender neutral and all that jazz. Tsk tsk tsk. SHAME!

I didn't know the other women. They were all using the gents at this stage.

Why was there no actual ladies toilet though? Weird.

In what way are they badly organized though? How do you know there wasn't a girl wearing earphones taking a dump in the disabled toilet? Sounds like you internally wanted it to be their fault so that your life seems more tough than it actually is.

Many businesses with a limited property size who want to add a disabled toilet have no option but to convert one of their two current toilets as they have no room for a third toilet. Are you suggesting that this Costa branch shouldn't have done this?

It is odd. What did they say when you asked them about the toilet accessibility?

I really dont blame anyone locking the toilets to the public either.

I know the disabled toilet was locked because the sign said vacant and it looked dark under the door and we were there a long time.

Costa should improve their barista service....they should clean the place at least once a week...and make the tiny change of putting a unisex sign on the gents and adding sanitary bins.
