Buying WAV in UK to import to Ireland for Taxi use

Does anyone have any experience buying a WAV car (eg. Peugeot Partner Tepee) in the UK and importing to Ireland for taxi use?

I’m receiving my taxi license in the next few weeks with the intention of buying a wheelchair accessible vehicle. I’ve been quoted €18,500 in Ireland for a 5 year old Peugeot Partner Tepee WAV with 30k on the clock. That’s including signage, mirror meter, plate and receipt machine, ready to work. I would avail of a €2,500 grant bringing it down to €16,000.

I can get a 4 year old car with less mileage in UK for about approximately €15,000 (13.3% VRT included). Then I’ll have to pay an extra €1,500 for signage, meter, etc.

Comes to about the same price for a younger car with less mileage. I know I’ll have to pay for transportation but I can’t think of any other extra costs.

Does anyone have any experience importing WAV from UK?

Any help, tips or advice appreciated.

Factor in the NOX cost too for registration process, could add a lot to the final amount to register after VRT.

Good point. I’ll look into that. Thanks

Ah it’s from when I was looking at commercial VRT. Not sure how much it is for a private car.

It goes on emissions and will be higher than that.

Have you checked out prices currently in Ireland for the same vehicle???

    https://www.donedeal.ie/cars-for-sale/peugeot-partner-2019-1-6-diesel-auto/37029537

    NOT TAXI READY €37,750

Yeah that's a 100% increase in price in the space of 4 years

Good old rip off Ireland is back in full swing.

Wheelchair conversion companies are fleecing taxi and wanaby taxi drivers at the moment, fleecing them!

    New 5 seater 2L auto diesels 60k+

    New 7 seater 2L auto diesels 70k+

They're saying VRT and VAT is totalling 20K nowadays which is complete BS.

O and by the way these prices ARE NOT TAXI ready vehicles prices 😲

It's near impossible to buy a WAV compatible vehicle directly from the main dealers nowadays, the conversion companies seem to have an arrangement with such to buy them all up therefore enabling them to charge what they want!
