google Docs template

Hi, Im trying to set up a template in google docs. The normal texts and headers have a default setting. i have tried to change these with not luck.

I go to normal text down to options and save as default. but it keep going back to original settings

Any ideas whats wrong

Some template features are only available for work or school accounts

You cannot change "default".

Suspect you're missing step 3 OP. Say you're trying to change the default text font from Arial to Calibri:

1. Create a new document
2. Change font to Calibri
3. Click Format => Paragraph styles => Normal Text => Update 'Normal text' to match
4. Then click Format => Paragraph styles => Options => Save as my default styles

If you don't do step 3, you're not actually changing your styles, you're just making changes to the specific document
