    Smalltown Boy

    Papa Don't Preach

    Romeo & Juliet

    Another Brick In The Wall

Reasons: the better song in each pairing although Dire Straits vs Bruce Springsteen was a tough one to call.

Smalltown boy, this was my number 1! I love this song, I love most songs that sample this song. Magic!

Pappa don't preach! Not her finest but I do like it

    53. Bronski Beat - This for me was the only easy tie of the round. Love a bit of 80s synthpop with falsetto. No fan of the other one.

    54. Fiction Factory - Just about edges it. More my cup of tea. Madonna will have more presumably.

    55. Dire Straits - This vote will be close but Romeo and Juliet is one of my favourite songs. Love the lyrics and how Knopfler turns Shakespearean dialogue into something a bit more "common" for want of a better word.

    56. Pink Floyd - Probably one of the first rock songs I remember as a child. Iconic video and chorus. Bee Gees unlucky here.

    Tough round

    Bronski Beat - Smalltown Boy
    Madonna - Papa Don't Preach

The next one is by far the toughest choice, I'd swap any of the other six for the loser here
    Romeo & Juliet

Pink Floyd - Another Brick in the Wall

In other news it looks like Sacha Baron Cohan on the drums for Bruce

Violent Femmes - Blister in the sun

I love this tune. Must say, Rick Astley was pretty good on Jools Holland New Year’s Eve

    Q/Match 50

    Rick Springfield - Jesses's Girl

Tough one but this just gets it.

    Q/Match 51

    Irene Cara - Flashdance

Nostalgia. Fame better be in comp too.

    Q/Match 52

    Cher - Turn Back Time

    I’m not fond of ABBA

I Ran - one of mine, a classic song.

Self Control - decent enough song, but really it's up against one of the most grating U2 songs so no competition really.

Every Breath You Take - the lesser of two evils here. The Police are more bearable.

The Sun Always Shines On TV - ARGH!!! Two of my noms up against each other so soon. As much as I love And We Danced, Sun Always Shines On TV is one of the greatest songs of not only the 80s, but all-time.

#57 - Really like both but Just Like Honey wins out

#58 - Self Control, absolute CHOOON. Plus U2 have better songs.

#59 - Not a fan of either but will go for 500 Miles as it's a bit more fun.
