Sun has just set and it's already -1.3c! The fields are already white with frost. It's not too often that the fields turn white before dark.

Gone sub-zero here in South Laois now - a long hard freeze until 11am tomorrow. I suspect it will go lower than the -4.5c recorded last night.

Currently -0.1c at my Arklow weather station
Min was warmer than last night at -1.5c

However Arklow frost pocket bypass was down to -3.6c I saw earlier,its not far from here
Light breeze throughout the night here in the wide open field my weather station is located in
The Arklow M11 station would be deep within a man made dual carriageway width valley with the excavated road hills either side of it so would be flat calm,a man made frost pocket
Interesting inversion dynamics
