It's awful. What kind of person would do that? Second murder on that road in the last few months.

Not funny for those of us living local.

Sounds like he was from the Simon shelter opposite, passing with my kids as the body came out.

Does Simon have a shelter near to where he was found?

There is a St Vincent de Paul one on Anglesea Terrace nearby. Few mins walk. Never knew there was a Simon on Boreenamanna Rd til now though.

Almost directly opposite, Clanmornin House, Boreenmanna Rd is a high support housing unit.

It's a discreet singe storey building on the left just before the road narrows but you'd often see a few tents in the bushes around it.

What was this? Something gone wrong or some psychopath carrying out a sadistic fantasy? Absolutely disgusting thing to do.

    Not scaremongering in the slightest.

A homeless person decapitated and having limbs removed is extremely uncommon. Not the only homeless person killed in Cork recently.

This is my field of study.

And what other homeless person in Cork was decapitated and had their limbs removed?
In your field of study like?
Cop yourself on and have a bit of empathy.

    Study harder

There's an arrest on the first one and the circumstances are so totally different I'm not sure what link anyone could possibly find.

    Respect please

Because the poor man had limbs removed it's a serial killer???

One would assume your field of study then is talking out of your arse.

Given it's my field of study, it's not based on this particular case.

I'm also bound by legal issues.

Well it aint stopped you yapping about it here as it?

Ghastly. Must be some heavy duty drugs going around to make someone do that.

So your field of study is one off homeless people who lose head and limbs in an area where another homeless person is killed in completely different circumstances

Would be an interesting thesus but sadly we can't read because of legal issues?

By the way, Gardai are still there as I've just walked past

Both men arrested in connection with the death of Mr Hourihane in October were released.

In fairness it's gone a bit mad out there, I just saw the video of the young chap being dropped on his head on christy ring bridge.
One of the more uncalled for things I've seen.

Saw that, could have done some real damage, plenty of people and cars about and the 2 lads pummeling each other.

With respect to the dead man, please desist from the attempts at humour and the arguments. Any more rubbish & thread will be closed.

The video I saw had the attacker chase the victim across the junction, catch him, and slam him into the ground. Seemed like more of a premeditated assault than handbags gone too far.

I'm originally from that area, I know who the deceased was also. I have been homeless myself in hostels, tents, and doorways. I had a serious drug and alcohol problem which I have since gotten treatment for, living a clean and sober life. I can assure you this man was a very quiet, placid man. He was not involved with drugs by any stretch of the imagination. Someone very close to me made statements to the garda because they firstly came across a man acting very suspiciously and at the same time they walked passed the man that was murdered, he was walking with a bag of cans in the direction where that weirdo was.

    That's because we don't have jail's , only prisons.
And don't forget that you are practically gauranted bail, if you appeal you the high court.

That guy who did the spearhead attack didn't he steal the guys phone and they started scraping. Worst thing I have ever seen could have been murder.
