It's crazy that anyone would dedicate their life to a fairytale wrote thousands of years ago.

I understand that people need some meaning in life, something that attempts to make sense of it all but I think society is at a point where it is ready to take a step back, say "hold on, what the **** is this ****e" and move away from it altogether.

The devil is a fictional character, which was used to keep us in check. A fictional character like most in the book, who aren't historic.

Theologically speaking, the notion of "Hell" refers to the absence of the grace of God, being the traditional Judaeo-Christian deity. The story of Lucifer falling from Heaven is much older than that, being rooted in the old Greco-Roman mythology. He is used as the personification of that state, but the whole bit with the fire and brimstone and cloven hooves is largely artistic license.

No, that's a misconception. Lucifer and his crew will be hrown into a lake of fire to burn there for eternity. No demon's torture people in hell if we're going by the bible
