My local lidl is not enforcing the 2 per customer rule, I saw multiple people checking out with stacks of 4. They were probably all gone by 9 this morning :(

None in local store, must have just missed them... Many people checking out with 4+ boxes as mentioned above with no problems.

Doubt that.....the till refuses to take more than 2. If that goes through, only 2 will be at the discount. :)

Not true... Saw at least 3 people checkout with 4 or more boxes at the discounted price, same as last year. I guess it depends on which till you get

I don't think this is true - One guy I saw bought nothing except the 4 boxes and he nearly ran me over when he was driving into the carpark he was in such a hurry to get the cheap crisps -I think he'd have noticed if only half of them were discounted :)

Okay, so many people posting suggests I'm wrong on this. I know from experience, with weekend offers anyhow, that when I've gone over the limit, the cashier looked at the till screen and warned me about the limit saying I would be paying full price over the limit.

Maybe it doesn't apply to the Christmas day offers.

Happened to me, got tonic water and as in sealed plastic so handy to carry etc, I left them and got one or two more and easier to scan without breaking plastic

Checked receipt and was charged full whack for over the ten (made sure to go back)

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 198 ✭✭rule supreme

I got 3 boxes of the tayto offer and the man working told me he would scan 2 of them separate because any boxes over 2 would be charged full price .

That USA tin is 6.99 in Aldi... one shop's half-price is not necessarily another's.
Offtopic I know but I find some of the pricing on chocolate etc a bit crazy in the supermarkets, all to make the offers seem better.
Tesco have some nice chocolates in their '3 for €10' deal - Malteser truffles, chocolate orange segments, Toffifee 400g plus the usual packs of Heroes etc. But the prices they have on each individual one are crazy - the Heroes pack are €9.73 or something like that. Then if you walk down the next aisle, you can see the bigger tub of Heroes for €4.

There will be queues before 8am in a lot of the stores, gone by 10am.

Generally just inside the front door!

Most shops seem to have moved the specials further in store, the crisps were mid way on the 3rd aisle in two shops we visited (not for crisps btw).

The 2 I visited had them in 1 upstairs, outside their front doors by security and in the other, just inside the door beside the Veg on offer.

Lot of the newer ones have covered carparks and for security, so there's an escalator inside the front doors to bring you up to the shop entrance.
There is often a display area outside these doors where they have the offers.

Yeah, 1 of the stores I use is not in an industrial estate, it's in the middle of a street which has large footfall.
There's a lot of "New Irish" that often queue with friends and family members early to get in at 8am for these offers.
When we had the dirty water issue a while back, a member of staff told me 8.30am was the latest to come looking for stock, there were queue's from 7.30 for water.
They could also sell tomorrows stuff on for profit on a stall.
Myself and herself will drop in tomorrow at 8am as we are passing, and get 4 for presents.

FFS! I haven't seen Afternoon Tea on special anywhere this year, so i bought USA Assorted ("normally €9.99"- right) at €8 in Tesco, and 3 more today in ALDI for €5.99, and now the ones I really wanted turn up at €4.99! Sadly it's 30 minutes drive in any direction (literally - NSEW) to a LIDL so I'll stay in the scratcher tomorrow I think.

LIDL really making the running this year - Dunnes very quiet on offers, and TESCO and ALDI offers are pretty tame. Even the BOGOF Prosecco - I think it's the same one that's only £4.99 in UK anyway.

Saturday 21st is Prosecco case deal 6 bottles for the price of 4 €7.99, 1 case per transaction.

When did it go up to 14% alcohol?

    That's a misprint, 10.5% I think.

I'll still be getting some if any left.

Have these offers been available? Like would you get them biscuits at 10am today?

you will in lidl fortunstown, but id estimate they will be gone by lunch.

"New Irish"? Is that code for something else? Can you only look for "bargains" if you're old Irish?!
