It's a good thread, suited to this forum and a welcome breath of life too, so if you don't mind...

    1902AllRedLineMap.jpg

The All Red Line was an informal name for the system of electrical telegraphs that linked much of the British Empire. It was inaugurated on 31 October 1902. The name derives from the common practice of colouring the territory of the British Empire red or pink on political maps. (Source Wikipedia)

A gentle reminder that this is a science forum and not After Hours.
Inappropriate posts will be treated accordingly.

(...and apologies for the delay in opening this interesting thread)

Some of the maps aren't science related, per se, just interesting and enjoyable. Given the move and directive, some (including myself) would hesitate to post amusing maps in a strictly science-related forum :( ...was an engaging AH thread while it lasted though.

I do mind actually because it will be tumbleweed in this dead forum and the thread will die. How many follow this forum v afterhours. The mod who move this admitted his mistake on the thread I linked.

Thanks, but my maps would probably be considered inappropriate in a Science forum.

Any chance of a Geography mod sending this back to AH? Was a really interesting & lively thread before it was locked and moved.

I would say google maps or something similar. It can only be based on locations of devices and pictures being published online.

eg. I am on the Eiffel Tower with a partner. Take a selfie, publish on Facebook etc.

These are the threads that AH should have.

I love how an infographic (if that's the word) informs at a glance.

    Fascinating stuff here

Interesting given the matriarchal aspect to Italian culture.

I am surprised by the ebony porn in Africa if I am being honest.

The Italians are mad into their mama mia's in fariness.

I would like to see a more detailed breakdown.

" Pegging and fisting viewership per capita" etc.

I must send the good people at triplextube an email to see if they even keep statistics.
