PowerPoint fails to open

    Hi, I’m hoping a techy person can help. I do not have great technological knowledge so please put it in very basic terms for me.

    I have a Mac air as I assume that will be important. I downloaded a resource from a reputable website and it contains a PowerPoint that I want to use. I have Microsoft PowerPoint on my computer, when I try to open it, it says the “file extension has changed. make sure the file format matches file extension”

    How do I fix this? I paid for this resource so I’m eager to get it to work...thanks
