Tom Farrell has the worst accent ever.

Smith making Ryder look like a legit midget.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 10,153 ✭✭✭✭normanoffside

    Ryder doing ok after 3

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 57,373 ✭✭✭✭walshb

Ryder just too small and not heavy handed enough...

    Smith is nothing special...

Billy Joe Saunders will be enjoying this. Ryder's head movement giving Smith all sorts of problems.

Love to see Eubank in with Smith...

And to think that some people think that Canelo is avoiding Smith...

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 57,373 ✭✭✭✭walshb

Hugely surprised if Ryder gets this on the cards..

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 10,153 ✭✭✭✭normanoffside

    Smith is boring here.
Ryder was sopped by Nick Blackwell FFS!

This is a good fight very game lads. Smith looks so stiff I was wrong Canelo would mince him

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 57,373 ✭✭✭✭walshb

The smaller man for most the fight has been moving the bigger man around..

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 399 ✭✭liamoreilly

...Worst performance I've seen from Smith todate...Just hasn't seemed up to, and timing is terrible...Maybe the height difference making it more awkward than usual...

And if Ryder had any power he would too!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,086 ✭✭✭duffman13

Smith looks out on his feet, Ryder, with a decent whack of power would have put him out in the 11th. Doesn't have the punch but if he keeps going, it's only going one way

Smith was ready to go there.

I'd like to see Ryder take it but it's very close, very very close

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,021 ✭✭✭squinn2912

Bound to be a smith decision here. I’d say 116-114

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,928 ✭✭✭Morrison J

If Ryder couldn't get the decision against Fielding that he deserved it's hard to see him getting this. Absolutely clearly won though.

Yep, the sky team already laying the narrative for Smith to win tbh

Probably not a clear win either way tbh tho

He did not clearly win it..

How does Andy Lee give Smith the 12th so clearly?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 57,373 ✭✭✭✭walshb

Ryder did well, but most the cleaner work from Smith...

    Lee has right result...

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 399 ✭✭liamoreilly

...Ah FFS, cards are definitely wrong...Smith possibly won it by 1 or 2, nothing like that though...

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,086 ✭✭✭duffman13

That's bollocks, the spread on that is ridiculously flattering! Booing from the fans says it all

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 10,153 ✭✭✭✭normanoffside

Even Callum smith's home crowd is booing that decision.

Just left the Ech Arena now...

Bull**** scorecards on a matchroom show as per

    117-111 to smith hahahahaha

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,928 ✭✭✭Morrison J

    ****ing joke scorecards

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 13,763 ✭✭✭✭Inquitus

Hmmm seems to be daylight robbery with those scorecards.

Ridiculous scorecards no idea how you can score it 9-3, thought Ryder shaded it tbh. Smith is very overhyped has one good performance over a shot George Groves. Canelo would brutalise him.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,928 ✭✭✭Morrison J

    9-3 Smith hahahaha

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,021 ✭✭✭squinn2912

117-111 seems really unfair. Marginal. I think smith got better shots off you can’t give points for pushing into a corner and nutting as much as it drains energy. What’s certain though Smith’s stock hasn’t gone up

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 10,153 ✭✭✭✭normanoffside

I think a motivated BJS beats Callum fairly easily.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,086 ✭✭✭duffman13

Enjoyable enough fight but I find I usually end up with a sour taste in my mouth watching some of these scores on Eddies cards.

    Canelo will murder him

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,928 ✭✭✭Morrison J

Lost a lot of respect for Andy Lee recently too. Going full Sky company man.

Saying it doesn't matter that Crolla won by robbery the other week and now that scorecard tonight giving Smith the 12th round which he clearly lost. Abysmal.

Ironically this might make the Canelo fight much more likely. He’s be thinking easy night’s work looking at that.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,086 ✭✭✭duffman13

Blaming the quality of his opponent tonight on a ****e performance! Making himself less likeable aswell! Well done Callum Smith, Jesus!

Yep, he would be thinking a handy night alright, he would be wanting the knock out to be sure if it's fought in the UK

Eddie Hearn is also full of ****e as usual

It would be an easy nights work for him, he would do well to last 6 rounds.

Lee was talking a bit of nonsense tonight, alright.

Eddie saying that his phone was ringing during the fight from potential opponents is a joke.
I'd love to see BJS vs Smith in a unification. I reckon BJS schools him.

Disappointing, he's usually great to listen to but you don't bite the hand that feeds you I suppose

BJS is nothing like Ryder physically...

I think BJS more upright appearance makes it a more comfortable style for Smith..Smith has power and reach. BJS would find him a handfu.

Anyway, neither have done anything approaching special. They’ve fought eff all..

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,086 ✭✭✭duffman13

Fair play to Johnny Nelson! Going against the grain

If you stand there like Bellew and spend the night talking about why Smith struggled so much and justify his performance based on Ryder being a Southpaw then your really showing Smiths level

Hopefully they both fight and we can consider the winner to be decent. Because so far neither are much good.

If Ryder was the big name there and the champion the 117-111 116-112 scores would have been for him. Was a close fight but there was no way Ryder was getting any decision there tonight. It’s frustrating but it’s just the way boxing is and I doubt it will ever change.

You’re dead right there. Interesting to see punches landed stats when they come out. I reckon smith up on that. You really have to take the belt off the champ. I don’t think he quite did that.

I felt Ryder had the better of it on the night landing the more meaningful shots.
There was plenty of close rounds but I thought the scorecards were a complete joke.

With 9-3, the only rounds the judge gave to Ryder were ones you couldn’t attempt to justify giving the other way. May as well have his brother scoring it

Well actually considering Paul had it 5-2 Callum after 7 rounds, he probably gave Ryder more rounds than Terry O'Connor did !
