Hi all,

I recently set up a fixed term deposit. This is the layout on the website. The interest rate was 3.21% for 1 year fixed which I feel is very good for a standard safe investment. It was fairly straight forward to do. I went with the Latvian BluOr Bank. If anybody has any questions please ask. Also see my post above for friend referral.

Hi, do you know if Raisin is licensed by the Irish Central Bank? Also, can you explain how it works? You sign up, transfer funds (bank transfer?) and choose the savings account you want? Is the savings account opened directly with the Latvian (or whichever you choose) bank? Thanks.

Hi,

Raisin is regulated by the Central Bank of Ireland for conduct of business rules.

Once you get verified, id and address verification. You can apply for any of the savings accounts. I chose the Latvian one as its 1 year term and had the best interest rate. But there are bank from Portugal, France and so on offering terms of 1 - 5 years with different interest rates. The savings are protected by the EU €100,000 guarantee scheme like any Irish bank. Once you chose the account and they set it up, then you have to transfer with a bank transfer to your own Iban which they provide you when you join. It's a good set up, and great rates. Just the actual verification takes time, and you have to to a video verification for the id. Hope this helps.

Did anyone notice a problem with generating a referral link on the Raisin webpage. I’m trying to refer my wife but I can’t get the link to work.

The links are totally broken the past few weeks. On a PC / laptop, maybe not phone there is a working link for referrals on homepage where you can enter in their email. They will then be sent it. See askaboutmoney com and deposit section then recent posts on referral request.... for detailed info as it's been discussed there in detail.

it works like this - there is no code

Someone with an account has to input some info for you - name and email and then when u get the email for raisin you go from there, you get 50 euro and them me or whoever gets 50 euro after you sign up

i have been using them since they were raisin.com and they have been great, if u need advice re holding tax , bank safety, or how dirt tax on eu funds work, just send me a pm and anyone else free free to pm and we can try sort a referral

When I opened my Raisin accounts I asked for a referral code and received one, I got €50 and the person that sent me the code link by PM got €50, looking at Raisin just now it seems to have changed, this link can be used, note if used I get €50 and you get €50 up to the first 10 that use the link, thereafter only the new sign up gets €50

Now that rates are starting to come down, time to consider locking in a rate for next 12/24 months

BluBank still offering 3.56% for 12 months. A little better than Trade Republic and Trade Republic could reduce their rates again next month
