Changing banks

Hi can anyone tell me if I switch banks from ptsb to say bank of ireland and close down my ptsb account.

Wil I have a clear statement on my new bank account?

Or do they all transfer onto new account

I had switched from boi to ptsb about 7 years ago

You will have a fresh new statement with your new bank.

Since it's a different bank and a different account obviously not. But at the same time if ask for banking details on a loan for instance it will not be accepted either.

Your BOI statement will be empty, barring any initial deposit. However, if you're applying for a mortgage, the requirements will be to submit statements for any accounts held over the last 6 months, not just from your current bank.

You need to inform your employer. Standing Orders and Direct Debits can be automatically switched if you use your new bank's switching procedure. Although even if you did, you should still monitor all your transactions until you're satisfied everything is moved
