ros seems to be down for the last two hours from 12.00 to 2.00 today. anyone else having problems? extension to the filing deadline?

I was on the site this morning around 11.30am.
Got to the last leg to do the payment and it died on me.
I've been onto Revenue twice and they said it would be back twice but still nothing.
There's no way they can charge people if the site isn't working.
I'd say it will be extended if it's not back shortly.

didnt something like this happen only 2 or 3 years ago? something similar happened and they extended the deadline by a couple of days.
i would say the IT people in Revenue are swetting it now!

I cant log in to ROS whatsoever. Its not even giving me an option to log in. I just keep getting a box saying “ no documents uploaded to this browser” although im getting emails from revenue telling me i have unread documents available

Glad I stayed back late last night and filed a lot of the returns I had ready to go instead of leaving it to this morning. Still another few to prepare and file, can't download the prepopulated forms though.
I remember it being glitchy last year in the evening time.

Its down since 11.30ish, I got through on the phone at 12.05 and was told it would be back up in 10 minutes (circa 12.15)

at 12.30 I sent my first email and got this reply at 12.49

"Dear Ros customer
Thank you for your email.

We are currently aware of an issue with ROS facility which our IT Developers are currently working to resolve.
It is hoped to have this restored in next 30mins.
We regret any inconvenience caused."


at 13.43 I sent my second email and have not year received a reply

I've logged a call to my institute, I recommend that you all do the same and log emails to roshelp@revenue.ie

Just been on the phone to them.
A press release is due out shortly (guessing extension).
Surely they know most people will do it on the last day, it is Ireland after all.

Just something that I was advised before it's a good idea to clear history etc. in browser, reload ROS cert and then try again.

submitted my online return this morning no problem. Site is back to normal. Feels like I just got U2 tickets on ticketmaster rather than dropping a ball of money in tax.

ros is picking up the late filing fee today for filing a return for me today!

Just delete it. It is not applicable but is hard coded into the software

ROS is down again , just 1 return to file, my own one its 99% complete and thrown off the site about 40 min ago, still trying to get back in to complete it and submit... PITA

Yup down again. Have no idea where to go to fill in the Form 11 either. Keep getting a "No certificates are loaded in this browser" message.

Pointless giving an extension if the site is still not permitting returns to be filed, its currently very unstable, constantly in a loop then thrown out

i seen some people on twitter been a bit smart and saying just file your return earlier! i think that if they got rid of the extended filing deadline and changed it to 31 October we would have the same issues then!

Thats irrelevant.. we are and always will be a nation of Last minute. COM, therefore ROS should be able to deal with that, if it cant its not fit for purpose.

cant access ros now bit it was a funny error - the surcharge was not showing up on ros offline but i was getting the error message when i was trying to upload it before.

Revenue should have realized that the 12th Nov would also coincide with VAT returns , RCT and payroll returns...utterly bad planning by Revenue.

Plenty of sites and services handle big days like Black Friday, Cyber Monday, Superbowl, Xmas. Its a solved problem. AWS, Azure or other.

And apparently they're known for their IT prowess among tax collectors...

phew was ok at 10pm last night so all done in our house ! (missed some capital allowances so had to edit mine ! )

From 6pm onwards yesterday it worked reasonably well. I got a heap of our ones filed up till midnight. Still have about 20 to do. Wish I had kept going now tbh and stayed in bed this morning as there is FA I can do at the moment.

They will need to extend it again but it is a shambles

It went down around 1 AM, I just thought they were working on it at a suitable time.

In light of the difficulties experienced with the ROS system over the last couple of days, a surcharge will not apply to any returns filed this week.
