    Hi there,

I am considering upgrading my boiler and adding a Nest thermostat.

    I was wondering two things:

    - How does the Nest thermostat behave when the internet goes down, will it still control the boiler? Any restart procedure needed?

    - What if there is a power outage, obviously the boiler won't start but does the system need to be restarted after?

    Thanks for your help

hmm not 100% sure on this one, not from the app as that will need WiFi but possibly will work from the thermostat itself as I think it's bluetooth, never tried it. I will later..... But if not hit the button on the heatlink and it will turn on the boiler.

    Not normally no.

Not normally no, once your WiFi comes back you're all good. The Thermostat will still power itself from it's battery but as you say obviously won't do anything.

Tested it, and yes it can still control it.
