Hard to narrow it down to one thing, but I'd like to be more spontaneous.

I would like the mind of AA Gill and the looks of Beckham. And the ability to count.

Not get bogged down by trivial matters, appreciate that life is too short.

I wish I could rid myself of my god awful guilt complex and learn to say “No” more.
I feel compelled to help people out with their crap and I regularly find myself getting bogged down by problems not of my making.

I could probably do with having my awesomeness dialled down to maybe 12. Mostly to be fair to everyone else.

I would love to lose a bit of weight. I'm on psychiatric meds that make weight loss very difficult. It's worth the side effects to keep myself mentally well - I mean, I'd rather be fat than dead. But still, I wish I could wake up some morning two stone lighter.

Or even better, if I could wake up one morning and no longer need meds to keep myself well - I'm on quite a cocktail of them. Hopefully that would solve the weight issue too!

Moodiness. There's times when I'm a sulky cow, especially with the people closest to me, and even though I know I'm behaving like a spoilt teenager I can't pull myself out of it. Hormones don't help.

Memory of a goldfish too. I envy people who can vividly recall childhood memories, I just have a blank. If I ever get pulled in by the Guards and questioned about my activities on any date more than 3-4 days ago I'm absolutely screwed.

ETA: that's two things isn't it? See, I've forgotten the thread title already...

I wish I could turn back the clock a little. I will be sixty next year and knowing that I have more time behind me than ahead of me is a little bit depressing.

Also I wish I wasn’t quite so forgiving.

    My temper.

Although its a lot better than it used to be its been hard work, and a work still in progress.

I can be very quick tempered and I'm quick to go (I've a very short fuse).

Other than that I really have few regrets or things I'd really change. There are things I've done which I'm not proud of but I don't dwell on 'em and I'm unlikely to make those same mistakes again.

Aren’t you in the army or something? I would have hoped they don’t let in a lot of people with “short fuses.” It’s a good thing we’ve never had to go to war.

I would like to transition. From an over thinker to an average-amount-thinker. I would also like improvements in my ability to remember events in the correct order, and it would be nice to be more intelligenter. I would settle for eliminating the overthinking.

On the physical side, a little extra height would make life nicer and make nice clothes easier to find.

New eyes, kidneys and pancreas. It would have to be retroactive to 10-15 years ago.

Sometimes I'd like to be a little smaller so I could fit into nicer clothes.

Because I've fairly thick arms, shoulders, back and chest I've to buy 2 or sometimes 3 XL tops. But those sizes are mostly made for people with big bellies. So when I get a nice top to fit nicely its often swinging around my waist.

There are some shops who do 'muscle build' shape in shirts and T's, you could try find something like that? Mostly American brands I suspect, but might worth a look for you.

And that shape sounds just about ideal :)

I'm going to buy you a brand new frock for Christmas, one that'll put that sparkle back in your eyes.

My procrastinating and maybe my laziness. The problem is both of these things are enjoyable. I don't get these people who need to be busy all the time

The only thing worse than not having a talent is having a talent but not using/fulfilling it, ask my former hurling coach

My lack of patience - I would like to be a much more patient person.

A better listener - I can talk for Ireland, but I need to improve on my listening skills.

    My, 'But what if' nature.
Why over think things when you can double over think them. Funnily enough, was going to start a thread on that general topic. Maybe tomorrow. I need to think about it...

Physically? My teeth. Back in the 80's, if your teeth were fighting for room you had two options, braces, or pull a few of them out and leave room for the rest and so given the cost associated with the former, it was the latter. 4 of them. Think about it every time I'm asked to be in a photo. Could get implants but not sure it's worth the cost at this point.

You can change anything about yourself, and most of you are wishing you could change your fecking personalities? This Aladdin reboot is going to be crap.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,454 ✭✭✭NSAman

Over the past 10 years have changed a lot, teeth went in, hair fell out. Money came in, waist went out. Used to be quiet, now no more. Travelled a huge amount, now love being home (alas not home home).

For every action i have taken, something else has happened.

At this stage of life, i am happy for the most part. I need to loose weight and will do.

The one thing i have to do, is make a way to see my family more, work always gets in the way.

    Or less deluded.

Try to walk away and I stumble
Though I try to hide it it's clear
My world something when you are not here

There is only one thing I would change about myself. Its connected to other things but, Brave.
I wish I were more brave. In many ways I am and can look back and feel proud of getting through x y and z. If I could please have a little less fear to in order to live a somewhat different life, then that would be amazing.
