Just thought I'd make a thread for this. Has anyone had a look at it?

Can't see Kimari beaten in the Juvenile Sprint on Friday, 3/1 atm. Watch its last win, such a versatile horse tactically with a serious turn of foot.

I think Albigna (4/1) will win the Fillies Turf for Harington but bar that I can't see the Europeans having much luck this year.

Always a good spectical this meeting is imo.

Big Kimari fan also, best bet over the two days imo.

Even that head defeat to Raffle Prize on ground softer than ideal is a cracking bit of form. Kimari has dismantled whatever it's faced in USA.

Only opponent I'd slightly fear would be Four Wheel Drive but that's about it

Gets underway properly within the hour you can sometimes see big differences on track vrs industry prices

Sense AOB won’t hit any winners this weekend

He won't get many better chances than with Arizona in the next. It's rarely a good idea backing the European horses at this meeting. AVD in the Breeders Cup Turf in a fierce short price for a horse with an awful lot to prove.

Arizona is too short a price. I backed him in the Dewhurst at a big price. This is a tough race and he is 5/2. He might win but the price makes no appeal. I have a small bet on Our Country at 18s.

Thought Santa Anita was kind to European runners compared to keenland/ Churchill downs

Arizona never in a position to strike.

Arizona never in a position to strike.

Finishing fast but never going to get there it’s a sharp track .9 of a mile round

Draw was a killer, but Ryan Moore seems to make it look worse

Combination of draw and Moore methinks.

I think it has been, but the European challenge itself hasn't been up to much in recent times and the US horses are better ( or better drugged up ) than they were in previous times and the Breeders Cup is even more of an afterthought for European horses than in previous decades.

O'Brien sends a plane load every year and there's carnage as they get outpaced, badly drawn or leave it too late to challenge.

Outside of the Juvenile Turf races and the BC Mile Turf and BC Turf there's not much chance of the Europeans striking. In modern times even those soft races have been increasingly falling to the US horses.

Funny I thought Etoile was the best of the Irish in that race. Beat So Wonderful on debut (whom she works out with). She is 16/1 yet Varian's horse is 4/1. Crazy.

Frankie up too. Killler draw widest again though.

He broke okay and got up to about 5th from last place but then seemed to be happy to drift back to share last place and then it all shut in front of him.

Pint of stout for Ted :)

Donna veloce looks like a machine
I’m rooting for her to live up to the hype

The start is just so important. You need to be up prominent. Has cost Arizona and Kimari so far

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,681 ✭✭✭BumperD

Going with the fav British Idiom in next rather than trying to be smart finding a big priced winner. Small field so there should be zero traffic issues

Be nice to see Perfect Alibi feature for Clifford Barry.

But as they say, fillies are for kissing.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,681 ✭✭✭BumperD

    She cost $40k wow

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,144 ✭✭✭BQQ

Won it at the start boxing in Donna
Jockey really made the difference there

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,681 ✭✭✭BumperD

Albina will need to get luck in running coming from off the pace, also the drift in price is a little worrying given she’s travelling and has gone into season 2 races ago I’ll chance crystall 13/2 ew 4 places finished really strongly last time from a wide approach, trap 7 should be fine

They love their American Pharoah don't they. One of the progeny running in the fillies turf, Sweet Melania.

Biggest non event in sport the breeders Cup, no top draw race should be decided by such an extreme bias

    Again. Another one.

This time Albignia is the one to fly home

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,681 ✭✭✭BumperD

Albigna lost nothing in defeat there just beaten by better horse drawn wider in 11. You need to be able break well in the states

Winner of the Juvenile Fillies Turf was drawn 11.

You cant drop in, have to be handy. That fillies race was mad fast. We dont have turf that firm and fast in Europe.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,484 ✭✭✭Andrew00

Stall training in Europe is abysmal.

They take ages trying to get our horses in the stalls over here then there out like snails.

American horses go in as meek as mice and come out like a bat out of hell.

Wonder where JOB's Eagle Song has been for the last year.

Last seen at Dundalk winning off 83. Bought afterwards by Red Barron.

Are we lumping on Sistercharlie tomorrow lads

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,866 ✭✭✭Panrich

Santa Anita turf seems very fast and because of the tight track seems to play for the Americans and their fast early pace. Lots of our runners finished well but never seemed to get into contention early enough.

    9:54 breeders cup

Just Wonderful will be flying home here and looks value at 50/1 ew. If you like a less risky bet she is 25/1 ew 5 places 365.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,007 ✭✭✭kksaints

Just for fun I have gone for the following horses this evening.

    Pure Sensation Turf Sprint
Billesdon Brook Filly and Mare Turf
    Shancelot Sprint
    Circus Maximus Mile
    Blue Prize Distaff
    Mount Everest Turf

All to win except for Mount Everest who I went each-way on.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,681 ✭✭✭BumperD

Trying Diamond Oops 16/1 ew in the next. The odds on fav will be tough to beat but it’s racing and he (Omaha beach) might bounce after that last race

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,681 ✭✭✭BumperD

SisterCharlie odds on but the horse that was 2nd to her lto is 25/1 so will try that ew along with a rfc

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,092 ✭✭✭The Tetrarch

Lazy bet but I am on the favourite.

Super by Wayne Lordan...won that from the gate

Nice percentage for Wayne Lordan. It will pay for the Christmas shopping.

    Brilliant ride from Lordon

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,123 ✭✭✭Imhof Tank

Brilliant from lordan. The Godolphin filly passed him going into the turn for home and he could easily have paniced and got into a battle there, end up tracking wide too soon. Winning of the race to sit and save the ground around the turn there. A real pro, as the O'Briens know.

Did santana flog that horse to win the sprint there?
