reposync command “gives curl#7 - ”Failed connect to resources.ovirt.org:80; No route

On a linux centos environment, the command

lago ovirt reposetup --reposync-yum-config

gives an error - see

Im thinking proxy issue, but i have configured proxy for ssh, wget and yum so not sure. The address can be pinged

It does sound like proxy config. Have you set the proxy as an environment variable?

Can you install netcat and do:

nc ip-address 80

press enter a couple of times. Does it connect or give a banner, or an errror or...?

To install netcat just do yum install nc.

I should have said, the IP address needs to be the IP of the proxy. If you are getting connection timed out then for some reason you can't access the proxy. Firewall in the way, or its running on a different port. Are you sure of the proxy settings?

Seems that it just hangs if run towards the proxy address, NO output at all, need to do ctrl c to get back.

can you do

nc -vv ip-of-proxy 80

OK so it does establish a connection to the proxy server.

I found a thread here which discusses a possible bug involving name resolution. So..

At the bottom of your hosts file Put:

66.187.230.28 resources.ovirt.org

Then try your command again.
