AIB app hanging on confirming login

AIB now has their "two factor authentication" thing. Which unfortunatley fails on a Moto G4+ phone. The app is installed and can access the accounts all right, and when one tries to log on on a PC, the mobile ap displays a confirm/deny screen. However the app hangs upon "Confirm" being tapped, and login is never possible.…

I did try to remove the app and reinstall it but this does not help. Whan else can I do to fix this - apart, of course, from a factory reset of the phone? Somehow I don't expct AIB to be very helpful...

Report it via the app feedback on the Google Play Store - developers usually track this for possible bugs
Other than that, why not use the app as intended, two-factor authentication is only needed if accessing your account outside the app.
