Some nice looking games. I'm worried about TNF with short week, banged up O-line and Denver's defense looking better.
Vikings Lions should be interesting, Texans Colts should be close too.

    Taking the Broncos tonight.

...after losing 7 in a row to the Chiefs, it's hard to pick Denver, but if they did manage it, it would reignite their season prospects (for another week or two at least!)

Have to say, we might be getting the Chiefs at a great time though, they look a bit compromised.

Is Andy Reid TRYING to RGIII Mahomes? You have him dealing with that injury already and put him into a play like that?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 39,452 ✭✭✭✭eagle eye

Flacco is awful, that was horrendous. Like this guy is a veteran QB, no excuse for carrying the ball like that. Free seven points for Kansas. I'd bench him immediately for that.

Broncos OL is horrendous at pass blocking, Flacco is horrendous too, not much hope of the Broncos getting back into this one against a toothless Chiefs offense sand Mahomes.
On Mahomes, still not much news outside of him not returning tonight but it looks like a new injury so nothing to do with what was going on already.

Madden curse kicking in again, if it's a bad one then the season is cooked.

Defense has stepped up with 7 sack so far and they'll need to keep that going because Moore ain't doing much on the other side of the ball.

Dislocated kneecap for Mahomes, that's him gone for a while.

He should make it back for the playoffs latest, and with the way the AFC is shaping up he's in no danger of missing them (on the presumption it is a dislocated kneecap).
There's only 7 teams with a winning record and 1 of those is the Raiders.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,702 ✭✭✭MileHighGuy

Didn't stay up to watch the game, but looking at the box score seems like I saved myself from an ordeal.

Feel bad for the Chiefs to see Mahomes lost for a number of weeks and possibly the year, not sure the prognosis with a dislocated kneecap?
Not great for us NFL fans either, he is something to behold when healthy.

I'll watch the game in 40 later (so can't comment on specifics), but I get the feeling the Broncos fire sale might be back on before the Oct 29th deadline. Season is done for sure now.

Stupid decision from Reid to go with a QB sneak when Mahomes was already crocked with an ankle injury. They re-signed Anthony Sherman in the offseason, presumably in part for short yardage situations exactly like that one.

Sherman even had a successful 4th down carry iirc, from further than the QB sneak was.

They're going to be in trouble if the defense reverts to their previous showings because Matt Moore doesn't look like he's going to turn games for the chiefs. A lot of underneath stuff and quick hits to kelce, even given that the game was well over.

    Broncos were putrid on offense.

Popped it back into place on field.....

But surely going to come with atleast minor ligament damage.

I heard about the Mahomes injury this morning when I checked the score. If he's just dislocated his knee cap and nothing else is damaged in his knee then he'll be blessed. I mean there are ligaments and the patella tendon itself that could easily have been damaged. I hope for a league wide reason he's okay but I'd be very surprised if it's only a dislocated knee cap.

Bit harsh. It was a completely random injury which wasn't connected to the other injury problem he was having. I'm sure it isn't an enjoyable play for a QB but how often do guys actually get hurt doing it?

Indeee. Brady is known for it. How interested do you think Belicheck is in injuring Brady?

Wow, just looking at some of the analysis from last nights game....not sure I will ever watch it now to be honest, but this stood out....talk about meeting at the QB...

As I said, the Chiefs re-signed Sherman for this sort of situation. Reid values his FB because he’s proven himself over the years so use him. Everyone knows Mahomes has been hobbling for weeks so he’s it’s a red rag to a bull when using his legs, especially for a division rival.

If Mahomes was 100% then yeah, maybe go the sneak. But with a proven FB in the line up and a QB already carrying an injury it was silly to run the play. They got burned bad and now it puts the season in jeopardy.

Best case scenario is three or four weeks I reckon but we’ll see with the MRI results.

Despite how those plays look, a QB sneak is much lower risk for injury than most things QBs are asked to do inside or outside the pocket, especially while already carrying an injury. If you're too worried about him doing a QB sneak then you might as well not have him active for a game.

Freak injuries happen but I'm happy to change my mind if you can list out the QBs that have been seriously injured over the last few years doing a QB sneak.

As a broncos fan I have to say that the game last night was a disappointment - its likely Lock will start against the Browns

For the rest of the NFL - fire sale in Denver - any offers for Harris, Sanders, Wolfe, Miller

He had no knee problem as far as I'm aware so this is a new injury. It's unfair to blame the coaches for this injury.
